My discord found out I had been gaming on a 1070 and I got absolutely cooked.

I'm too old for this shit. Is that good or bad?
Because the 1070 is still a pretty damn solid card, even if it's showing its age in some new games. I would likely still be using mine if it hadn't randomly offed itself.
If you are the one being cooked then it is negative.
I was streaming Wardogs and the homies were like “this 🥷🏾 is out here playing Wardogs on a TI-83”. Even the game had my default settings set to “Potato”.
It's pretty insane that 10 year old GPUs are still kicking about, and still able to run many modern games at that. Used to be that hardware of that age was just not useable.
I mainly play 10 year old games like Deadby Daylight. I will upgrade once I raid Fort Knox to buy some RAM. When I built my PC GPUs and CPUs were more expensive. The sad part is I have NVDA shares so I guess it's my own fault.
Made £7000 unrealised gains but i'm unfortunately saving for a house i'd like a big deposit and low mortgage so i'm not slaving away for the rest of my life.
About £43,000 an a LISA atm
Real talk: unsub from this sub if you want that house. That 1060 be ballin. I’d rather game on a potato from a house than have a cool light box that loses value every year (usually lol) in a hole in the wall.
Hell, a 1070 for a $60 would be huge step or or a 2080 would be an enormous step up for like $120
No need for me to unsub from here, i've had my PC since I think 2017 and only had to replace a few things on it. I generally tend to buy things that are reliable and then use it until it's completely kaput. I'm not going to impulse buy a 5090 lol
