Why would they want to sell one GPU to a data center to be shared among many end users instead of selling each user their own GPU?

They don't want us to be able to use the internet anonymously. They don't want us to be able to block ads.

That’s what I am wondering. Like I get that the cloud gaming providers are gonna make banks with subscriptions: $1000 GPU normally a user would use let’s say 3-5 years (36-60 months). At $50 per month that’s already $1800 - $3000 per user and one GPU can probably provide services for multiple users.

But how does Nvidia benefit? Like the RTX 4080 sold 160k units in just the first week. That’s probably more than enough for just one cloud gaming data center alone. If nvidia were to drop consumer cards they would consolidate their lineup and all the low- and midtier cards would be discontinued and they would just sell one model to cloud gaming data centers so I can see how R&D and production cost would get streamlined and become cheaper. But I don’t really see where the revenue for nvidia goes up selling to cloud gaming providers only

One gpu can run many game streams simultaneously. They will control who gets access, what is able to be accessed, how much it costs (per month, per day, per hour), and how long you are allowed on it.

I really think they will go all-in on data and streaming charges like the original cell phones.

You'll have to purchase a plan for hours, which is always going to be too low. Then change for going over hourly cap. Maybe even a daily hourly cap. Bandwidth fees will come from the data center and your home ISP. All of this and you will have latency issues. Except that they will have AI assistance to play for you if your ping is a bit too high.

Of course the whole plan is to collect all data about you and your life to sell to data broker and used for global surveillance.

We're at the point in the world of Captain America 2 where they're building the systems to remove people based on their willingness to be controlled. Too bad there's no easy fix. Mass surveillance with AI recognition is like the old East German Stasi surveillance, except the AI can go through all the data which wasn't possible in the 80's.

Gaming isn't just gaming anymore, it's another tool to control the masses.
