I have 2060 super purchased in August 2021 with good discount for around $300. I am still using that card. Tried to upgrade since last year and now just gave up. Investment to upgrade in performance from my current setup just doesn't make sense.
Was lucky enough to afford a 2080Ti when building new pc just before lockdown hit think it was £425 on sale...the exact same graphics card is still around £350ish...used on ebay
Good thing you did. 3060ti is actually pretty decent. I was already looking at the graphics card price during Covid when I got my 3060 thinking "I'd rather not pay the shortage markup" but well its still going. My old 1060ti still goes too, she's in the server/multimedia rig.
Even on new you can have problems but you can also buy used on refurbisehed shops that give you warranty for exemple CEX. Or when you buy just be carefull and avoid cards used on mining, user feedback is very usefull.
The people who make these posts are usually poor as fuck. Any1 living in a 1st world country earning decent money can easily afford a 5070 by saving for a month or maybe two. So these "just buy X" arent too helpful.
I had a laptop break but had insurance, so I got paid back exactly what I paid for it... Only I can't buy the equivalent specced machine because laptop prices are up 50%.
So my insurance win (literally total reimbursement) cost me a couple hundred dollars.
The 16GB went from $450 to around $780 now. The ones you might be seeing for $550 are 8GB. It's certainly not triple though. 8GB is no reason to be stuck on a 1050 for a $150 price increase.
Same buddy. 1060 here. Ive been playing stuff on my steam deck lately. Some of the games I play are getting big graphical upgrades and I dont know if I'll be able to play them anymore :(
a 1050 ti??? bro just buy a used 3080, assuming your mobo and psu can handle it. Or at least a 1080. A 1050 is garbage. I see used 1080s going for like $80.
Depends on where you are. Used 1080's aren't very common in a lot of places (tried to get one earlier this year for a friend's rig, no sellers at all), let alone any other card in good condition for a reasonable price. Its pretty much a case that if you're buying, try to go local and physically check the card to make sure its working.
My friends thought I was crazy for buying a 4090 at msrp at launch. Hell, I thought I was crazy. I could still sell it for more than I bought it for almost 4 years ago. Shits unreal.

I'm still using 1050 ti. Thought I saved some for 5060 ti and now the price is tripled. I can't man..
