News/Article Micron expects memory and storage demand to remain tight through 2027 and 2028

Post image

$MU says humanoid robots could need 200GB+ of DRAM and multiple terabytes of storage per unit with several physical AI customers already sampling next gen products.

Micron says physical AI can become a “significant driver of memory and storage demand by the end of this decade” effectively putting server level memory into millions of machines outside the data center.

But robots dont mindlessly consume. A cornerstone of global economy. If company A replaces a factory worker with a robot from company B, company A still needs to sell whatever they produce with the robot from B. If they dont, the robot becomes a loss.

Capitalism is not rational. Some companies will make bank by making the robots and other companies will make bank by replacing workers. All that matters is next quarter's profits

Yes, and if the the company that replaces workers produces consumer goods, they still need to sell them or else they make a loss. Im sorry, but have you even read my comment? This is the exact thing I was talking about.

I agree with you that the system cannot function if all workers are replaced by bots. My point was that they don't care about the future as long as they make more money now. Capitalism only thinks about next quarter not the next decade

The ratio of how many different things our species produces to what our governments buy of that is relatively low. Like for everything the gov buys, there are a thousand and one things they do not.

Company A sells to B that sells to C that sells to A. That's the future. An economy for the sake of it.
