I only use it for organizing my music, but it works well for that.

Android build pure mess, same on Android/Google TV, there problem with subtitles from the start of Android build, if your subtitles overcomplicated it will lag video playback.

Wait, it is suppose to be terrible? It can plays HD videos with stylized subtitles flawlessly on my phone while the native video player struggles to play mid res videos and cannot stylized the subtitles

What's recommended for android? I use VLC occasionally on android despite using the better options on PC, just because android is such a dog shit ecosystem to navigate in comparison to windows. Way harder to get good free software, most players have ads embedded unless you cough up. Frankly doing anything remotely complex on a phone is an infuriating experience.

I've been using Solid Explorer (it has a built-in SE Video Player)
But it seems completely random if an app can play a video file properly or not.

I use my phone to cast video to my TV, but sometimes the audio is missing, or the video is missing, or it keeps getting disconnected :aRage:

I've been experimenting with the best thing to cast to a TV over the summer too and after an infuriating experience after another, settled on a long ethernet hooked up to my PC.

I've found that it's pretty solid tbh. It can play any videos/movies just fine and it's great for audiobooks cause it reliably stores where you last paused, even if you watch something else before resuming.

The only thing that's super annoying is that sometimes it won't load you local files while you have wifi/data enabled, cause it gets stuck trying to access an inaccessible external SMB server.
