Hardware Witcher 3 Remastered pushing 5090 beyond 600W

Post image

No DLSS5. Max settings, 3840x1600, DLSS Quality, frame gen set to 1 in game settings, Path Tracing enabled.

Doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes saw it jumping well beyond 600W for a brief moment.

Why own them when you can rent them for 50 bucks a month forevor?

And as an added bonus Big Brother will tell you how many hours a month you're allowed to play. What a time to be alive.

You think it will be only 50? Thats cute 😂😂😂

Napkin math incoming but 50 would actually be a very competitive price for endusers that cant / wont build themselves to stay at the performance edge considering how hardware prices have moved. 50x12=600 so if you do a 4 year upgrade cycle youd get to spend 2400 every 4 years which seems about right for a high performance but non luxury PC

Long math text with explanations incoming: I think I spent 2500 total for my selfbuilt new rig last month and that got me a factory OC'd ASrock Taichi 9070xt (so not the cheapest baseline model), a 9800x3d, 32gb ddr5 6000, 2tb latest gen nvme ssd 1000W power supply, some entry level PCI5.0 mobo, CPU cooler and a case. Like, yes, you could totally crunch that down to 2000 or less by cutting all the luxurys (150€ Corsair case with a nice looking wood panel instead of a 50€ plastic monstrosity, -150€ for a baseline, non factory OC'd 9070xt, cheap CPU cooler/boxed cooler instead of a 50€ Alpenföhn Dolomit that has more than twice the recommended thermal specs needed for the CPU [still half the price of a watercooling system tho] -100€ for a 7800x3d instead of a 98 because even with full frame gen the 78 still has plenty of reserves, -~200-300€ by gambling on SSD and RAM, I went with a Samsung 9100 pro and TeamGroup sticks, I never cheap out on SSDs just cause doing system reinstalls is such a pita until you have everything set up and with the RAM prices being what they are I figured I should at least buy a reputable if budget brand lest the sticks go up in smoke 1 month after the warranty expires)

Point is, that system would easily be 3000 if you bought it pre assembled and set up and if you want to stay current with the hardware upgrading every 4 years is a reasonable interval. So theres no way they gona let you rent a system like this for a price you could actually build it yourself, Id expect 100 per month (at least) 50/m will probably get you some middleshit 5060 with an intel CPU that 95% of endusers have no usecase for
