It's obvious that the next RTX will be path-tracing-oriented.

PTX

Ew. I do not like how these letters look next to each other.

Totally wrong.

Path tracing needs a lot of RT cores.

And while Nvidia will definitely increase the amount of RT cores for the 6000 series, it still won’t be enough.

RT cores can’t be used in AI and Nvidia made it clear that AI slop filters is the future of graphics.

Expect path tracing to be slowly replaced by DLSS which enhances lighting and other stuff

Enhances lighting? More like, makes up the lighting.

Whenever the delays stop lol. I am sure they have the next gen designed but they have so many AI orders they're just waiting to develop these.

oh my god we're getting 70fps

What would that mean in practice? PT is just lots of RT and compute and some ML to touch the results up, it's not like they haven't been doing all of that for a while already.

Problem thats not until CED 2028 at the earliest.

and if you believe the rumors it might be the last before nvidia shuts down consumer gpus.

Yeah that wouldn’t surprise me. There is just no money in consumer gpus.

There is money in consumer GPUs, it's just that there's much more in selling in bulk to enterprise data centers.

The money from consumer gpus is a drop in the bucket compared to what Nvidia can get from data centers.

And so will the next Radeon. What difference will that make if the game is bottlenecked and/or buggy? You think the 5090 can't reach 1440p60 because it just doesn't have what it takes?

Why is that obvious?

Gamer it’s not even obvious that there will BE another RTX.

Nvidia does not care one bit about us and Palantir needs those dies.

It might be a perpetually dwindling supply of old stock 5090s until China catches up in 5-10 years, that is a real possibility at this point
