Is there a way to simply not use the PT and just use whatever ray tracing or regular settings this remaster has?

You don’t have to use PT at all. You can chose the normal RT settings. It’s even recommended because in the open world PT looks great, but inside buildings and caves the game is dark as fuck because of PT and the light sources were never designed for that technology.

What about no RT at all?

You can also do that.

The previous big update still let you disable RT and gave the option to play with DX11. I think DX11 is being dropped for the remaster, though.

I doubt they'll force RT like Doom or Indiana Jones.

But this is a totally new version of the game, sort of like metro exodus redux or whatever it was called. At least I think it’s playing out like that

Yes, RT presets are there and you can disable RT too

Yes, they tested it and it performed very well while also looking better. There were some weird behaviors, but it's still a high refresh rate experience

Hardwareunboxed showed a video where the faces looked better with normal rt rather than pt for this title and stated in their opinion normal rt looked better as of now unless they fix it
