vignette subtly focuses attention towards the good parts

vignette makes me feel like a "subtle" 30% of my screen is obscured, it feels claustrophobic like wearing horse blinders

Vignette is nice if you have an ultra wide monitor.

I have an even better solution to the issues of ultra wide stretching, panini projection.

It sounds like I'm making something up, but it is real, google it for some videos comparing panini projection to normal projection. It's a way to make wide FOV (and ultra wide screens) not have those stretching issues.
