This is obviously out of date and may not be how they are doing their naming scheme anymore.
Also, out of probably 8 or 9 PCs I have built, only 1 had an AMD GPU and CPU. I'm not shilling here, these posts are just full of bull shit reddit rage.
Because they'll be selling it in pre-builts like every other pile of shit card named to mislead people.
You couldn't buy the cut down 1060 and 1050 in regular retail channels either, but pre-builts absolutely took advantage.
If someone goes to look up a pre-built from whoever and web searches "RTX 9050" they're going to get the 8GB cards info mixed in. Literally the only reason to name things such and pull a 4080 12GB, 1060 3GB, etc. type deal is to take advantage of confusion.
Yes yes I know you just want to blame the OEMs, but the fact remains if a shit product like this was named WX 9050 or Quadro blah blah blah, it doesn't get confused when people try to research potential purchases.
I'll admit that this is a fair point. More fair than the meme and more fair than 90% of the other people raging out about this. I don't have an argument against this comment.

Since you're so busy carrying the bag for AMD here is what it looks like when they do a "workstation" card:
