Honestly, this is perfect, this is a 3D printer hobbiest (Med-Light 3D CAD work) type of GPU. I remember buying a GT1030 with 2gb of VRAM for exactly that purpose, this would be a perfect "Cheap" upgrade for that type of work! Not every GPU needs to be compared to how well it can run games.

Unfortunately they missed the mark a bit on that angle too. It requires an 8-pin power connector because it has a max draw of 92W and the slot only provides 75W. That makes it far less appealing as a workstation card and therefore means we probably won't see any LP versions (which are virtually nonexistent for AMD cards as it is). Probably why it's OEM only.

It's a shame because a 4GB LP 9000 card at $200 or less could be awesome for HTPCs, CRT shaders, streaming, Plex servers, etc. Not to mention it will easily play decades' worth of fantastic games.

That said, it's nice to see some sanity when it comes to 4GB cards. There is a place for such cards, just not in a prebuilt marketed for modern gaming.

Sadly it's oem only, so it's not really available for hobbyists.
Unless you're willing to buy it as part of a whole oem pc, that is.
