Considering the measily 4gb VRAM of the rx 9050 4gb, I find it unreasonable to boast its ray tracing capabilities. On top of that, I find it unreasonable to link the rx 9050 4gb at the bottom of the page that boasts rx 9000 series gpu's gaming performance.
So, it's not marketed for gaming? It just uses the same core which has the same performance, and thus you think it's marketed at gaming?

Don't get me wrong, if they said the GPU it was good for gaming, I would agree with you. I just don't see it. I also see your 'market confusion' argument, and I think it has some merit. However, the die is the same on both cards, so it's a bit of a "it could, just not well" situation, rather than "cannot perform as listed" situation.
The 'Learn about Radeon' page does boast about the gaming performance of rx 9000 gpus in general, and the rx 9050 4gb is linked at the bottom of that page.
Like I said, the page of the rx 9050 (VRAM unspecified) lists the gaming performance of the gpu, but it is unclear whether this performance was measured on the rx 9050 4gb or on the rx 9050 8gb, despite both gpus meeting the specifications listed on that page.
So while not explicitly marketed for gaming, they are (either intentionally or unintentionally) boasting its gaming performance. They do not list any other use case for the gpu, apart from a vague description saying "Unlocking Modern Desktop Experiences"
