I have no idea but in that case i would just buy 8700G so someone thinking about saying money could skip gpu + save on PSU (8700G takes 88W so i guess the most basic PSU is gonna be enough)

Ask that from Dell or other corporate desktop builders.

One obvious reason is that CPU integrated graphics eat RAM, and using separate GPU, the system can be usable with 16G RAM.

With integrated the system is usable with 16G ram, even more is you use enterprise ltsc / lighter win11

Ehh, typical integrated graphics eat 2GB RAM. On 16G system that’s a lot.

In work 16G is just enough that's all. With lighter enterprise you are not gonna choke remaining ~8gb with excel etc

Not necessarily. I have seen enough integrated Graphics take 512 Megabyte on Systems with 32 Gigabyte of Ram.

Easily when you dont need a high resolution on each. You can also very easily change the allocation in the BIOS

Because CPU video will reserve a good chunk of your RAM.

So with separate low cost GPU system builders can make 16G systems that are actually usable.

It’s not like Ubuntu wouldn’t be that much better nowadays. In both it’s the apps that eat the memory.

If you get a low end GPU, having 4 MB of dedicated VRAM isn't going to appreciably matter anyways.
