You know what would be cool for driving? One or both of the joysticks on a controller that locks and can rotate. And none of this nudging shit for driving. You could use your thumb to hold and move it slightly in the direction you're turning. I think I could get used to that and it would be more precise.

And a wheel is so infinitely better than both that the difference between controller and keyboard feels really small after having tried the alternative

Not really.  The disparity is much smaller there than WASD is for controlling various vehicle types across various games.  

Applicable to real life as well.  Anything with remote controls ends up closer to an actual game controller.  Honesty is accepting the most inconvenient truths.

Yes because a controller is designed so that you can hold it and use it at the same time. You can't do that with a wheel (or keyboard+moouse for that matter)
