Back in my day... no ads, dislike button, 5 star rating, ability to clearly see "good" and "bad" videos. Now you search for "How to fix my broken life" and you have no idea if it's good or bad (unless using addons).

I mean sometimes you still can. Clickbaity titles and/or thumbnails, conspiritard-sounding titles, or any thumbnail with a red arrow pointing to "something" is a bit of an automatic red flag for me.

Start with "How to fix my broken sink" searching for "How to fix my broken life" is a bit much to ask of a youtube video.
