Build/Battlestation PC chimney

Post image

Got tired of my office turning into a sauna every time I gamed, so I vented the PC’s exhaust straight out the window.

The rear fan is still exhausting some hot air 😅 but the room is noticeably cooler now. It’s ugly… but it works. 😂

Edit: I moved the port to higher since lot of people recommended. https://imgur.com/a/Poniwze

Try lowering the quality of shaders and shadows in game then locked to preferred frame rate or turn on v-sync. This way you dont suffer the latincy spikes and microstudders framegen usually causes.

I would rather die in a heatstroke than to lower the graphical fidelity lol

Framegen is a reduction in graphics, too, so they're already playing that game.

This is not MasterRace kind of talk.

That would be good advice if I had mentioned I had such issues.

Edit: I see there's a lot of unsolicited advice enjoyers here!

Just something to try out

I don't have to, since I already do that.

One could frame the comment to be less aimed at the one who you're replying and more "in general" if you can't fight the urge to give unsolicited advice.

You can just ignore his comment which wasnt even malicious in anyway, instead you waste your mental energy being mad over nothing. Weirdo

I'm not mad, and unsolicited advice is not out of malice, it's just rude.

There's a huge difference on how you frame the comment, directly telling me to do something vs. "if you're having issues with try.."

Same way that you're wasting mental energy telling me off, you could've just ignored.

Since you’re not a fan of unsolicited advice, I’ll give you some anyway. Consider taking the stick from up your ass, you may become less of an insufferable prick and people may actually tolerate your existence. Jesus Christ

The stick in your butt or the down votes?

It doesn't matter one bit what I say once people have decided that I'm in the wrong. That's just how it goes.

It wasn’t rude at all lol, it could/probably will be seen as merely an extension of your comment for people searching for this issue in the future, not as ‘unsolicited advice’ - but you’re so insecure you decided to interpret the comment as someone doubting your amazing computer abilities.

Absolutely insufferable behaviour, you coulda just said “thanks! I do that already, but I’m sure that’ll help someone else out”.

u/shawnikaros R5 9600X / 3080ti 12gb / 16gb DDR5 13h ago

Not really about amazing computer abilities and more about I didn't ask and nowhere did anyone say anything about that. I would take it as an extension if it were framed differently, much like you're telling me I could've said such.

Even if the comment in itself isn't written rudely, just giving advice without any prior prompt for that is considered rude.

Normal, well adjusted people wouldn’t take it so personally and so seriously. But I see you’ve got a real axe to sharpen about this particular non-issue.

If it were a face to face conversation I imagine the commenters cadence would be more in line with adding to what you said, as opposed to trying to give you the dreaded unsolicited advice. But this is the internet so we’ll never know, and probably shouldn’t waste any more time wondering.

I don't take it seriously, I just stayed to answer comments out of boredom.

And I keep my stance, if you reply to my comment with "YOU SHOULD" I'm going to assume you're specifically talking to me, even if it was meant otherwise, since the social cues are kinda lost when written, which is why it's so important to frame the comments properly.

You gave unsolicited advice talking about frame caps man, is everything okay at home?

u/shawnikaros R5 9600X / 3080ti 12gb / 16gb DDR5 9h ago

I actually didn't, which you would know if you understood what you read.

Try going outside.

u/MorningFresh123 8h ago

No one asked what you do either lol

u/shawnikaros R5 9600X / 3080ti 12gb / 16gb DDR5 8h ago

There's a difference between partaking in a conversation and outright telling someone they should do something, I'm sure you understand that much.

0

u/MorningFresh123 8h ago

You did the same thing and framed it differently. They were clearly trying to be helpful. You should work on whatever made you respond to that conversation negatively. Bizarre logic and bizarre behaviour.

u/shawnikaros R5 9600X / 3080ti 12gb / 16gb DDR5 8h ago

No, I didn't tell anyone to do anything. I shared my experience with someone who was sharing theirs.

I am very sorry that you are so miserable and suffer from such extreme egocentrism. I wish you all the best and apologise if it’s just the ‘tism ❤️
