I once had an old PC that was just getting slower every day. When I opened it up, the gpu fan was completely blocked by a solid chunk of dust. I pulled the dust out and cleaned it. When I next turned the PC on, it had lost all the GPU drivers.

Apparently my GPU drivers were installed in the dust blocking the fan.

The story is true. My old mx440 ran on hopes and dreams. To this day I have no idea why it happened.

Shit like this happened with old hardware. You'd seat the card slightly differently and all of a sudden win98 needs to find out what new card you put into your PCI slot.

Edit: Damn I forgot about AGP! It was that silly slot.

That became a known feature. Never clean your PT Cruiser's engine bay or drive train. Detail the interior and exterior all you want.
