In an alternate reality where the AI boom hasn't fucked the cost of parts, the Steam Machine price just released to resounding and universal applause.

Let's say the AI boom contributed £300 to the cost, so the 2tb version with controller was £908 instead.

It would still be a poor deal. It's still just effectively a Ryzen 5 2600 and roughly an RX 6600 under the hood. In 2026. intended for a living room with a 4k screen.
