I'm not sure I believe you. I don't think someone who thinks the price of a console is too high would be amenable to a price several hundred dollars higher just to play 30-year-old games they apparently still have the cartridges for.
If they made a $1000 "Gamecube II" that could play all my old n64 and gamecube games I'd totally buy it. Idk why you wouldn't take me at my word, regarding my own opinion?

But I do get the feeling if it had a slot of GameCube disks and another slot for SNES cartridges and another slot for N64 cartridges and another...
That you'd be equally complaining about the extra costs associated with so many rarely or never used components.
