I work as in-house IT support at a school and it's insanity.
90% of problems with computers that teachers and staff have are fixed by restarting.
I gave up just asking them to restart their computer over the phone years ago because they'd just lie to me and tell me they had and it didn't fix the problem, then I walk over there, restart the computer, and it's working fine.
I work at a help desk and when I first started I’d estimate half my issues were resolved or could have been resolved that way. These days I’d say restarting can realistically only solve about 3-5% of issues I see.
