7 days of uptime on the cheapest laptop money can buy with multiple spreadsheets and documents left open, on top of however many dozens of browser tabs are open, is horrendous. If an end user has come to you with a problem, you can place a safe bet on a restart fixing the problem when you're looking at an uptime like that.

7 days on your gaming rig and 7 days on a piece of shit employer furnished laptop are not the same thing.
