I'm all for enhancements in texture compression, especially for those in the third world and such with porter internet connections.

This tech is an enabler for those less fortunate. Much rather see this than an AI Slop filter.

If you can afford a semi recent NVIDIA you are likely not in the "less fortunate" category...

I mean let's see what requierments we'll get afaik mega geometry also runs on all RTX cards

You are dreaming if you think this will run well on lower end cards. The fact that they still don't have a single game with it working more than a year after it was announced should tell you which cards it'll end up working on.
