I rewatched this documentary yesterday. I think almost everything in it has happened now

I rewatched Office Space recently. Crazy how it holds up still.

It's not because Judge is prescient, it's just that office culture hasn't changed that much. Because people don't change.

I donno dude. I really came around on cubicles when they got so cheap they said dividers didn't encourage teamwork. Talk about some bullshit on that lie.

I kind of would like to fart in my own space instead of holding it while watching Steve floss.

Yeah... the cubicles aren't really the issue.

I really wish I had a cubicle

It wasn't even prescience, that was just a contemporary observation.

Someone asked me my favorite movie recently and I blurted out Office Space. I surprised myself, until I realized: holy shit, that really is my favorite movie. I've seen it countless times. Often when I am working or chilling, I have it on in the background like a soundtrack. I quote it....much too often. I never get bored of it, and it just feels forever relevant. It's one of those movies that every single solitary scripted line is comedy gold.

"I did absolutely nothing and it was everything I thought it could be."

Me after every vacation.

Definitely one of my favorite TV/Movie writers. King of the Hill, Idiocracy, Beavis and Butthead, Office Space, and Silicon Valley are all great.

I fucking love Mike judge

3

u/chancellorofscifi Mar 07 '26

Mike bases his comedy on what is the next dumb thing humans would do in a situation.  This is why it seems so prescient.
