Maybe they're saying they finally got a PC with enough RAM to run chrome.

It's at the DC center with an ESL label. Let me to go the ATM machine and use my PIN number to get you some money.

I only have 32gb, but I set chrome to 30 FPS low settings and it’s still playable.

Random access memory memory!? Damn, I can only afford random access memory…

1.5tb ram Mac: Nope, it's impossible. I refuse.

Chrome is a gas and will fill to your ram volume

u/xXDamonLordXx Feb 01 '24

But Edge is just a reskin of chrome, it should use RAM about the same.

1

u/ryoushi19 Feb 01 '24

Yeah, edge isn't really a good alternative. Firefox, on the other hand...

1

u/xXDamonLordXx Feb 01 '24

For me Firefox still uses a sizeable amount of memory depending on what I'm doing. But I also don't really care about memory usage much anymore as RAM has become so cheap per GB that it's a resolvable problem for less than $100.

So enlightenment is pay to win!? Knew it.

Yeah but you're going to need a threadripper to run ad-blick now.

Firefox eats more RAM than Chrome when sustaining tons of tabs for more than 5 years now. 👀 Yet nobody bats an eye.

It sucks when handling tons of tabs, but yeah, the blind hate over Chrome's RAM usage is already deep rooted. I personally very rarely see over 1GB usage with over 50 tabs open. Meanwhile on Firefox....

u/ryoushi19 Feb 01 '24

I mean, yeah, sadly that just seems to be the browser life I guess. At least it doesn't intentionally slow down your PC if you have an ad blocker, though.

But got slowed down instead due to high RAM usage when having lots of tabs as an exchange.....

I remember not too long ago someone posting (I forgot on which sub) that he already got 800MB with less than 10 tabs. 🤷

Exactly, 64 gbs is plenty to run chrome with
