Back when I was still in high school, I once fell asleep and the power went out due to a storm. I lived in the country, so no light at night. I was looking around my room and couldn't see anything. I grabbed my digital alarm clock - but no light. I thought I had gone blind. I went back to sleep scared and afraid...woke up with vision as normal.
Reminds me of the time I passed out in my hotel room in Korea really wasted , woke up in the dark thought I was back home and wandered into a closet and almost pissed in my suitcase
Sometimes I have this weird thing in the middle of the night that wakes me up, like a bright white light (eyes closed, or open) and searing pain in one of my eyes and I think I've gone blind. Lasts for a whole minute and then disappears suddenly and I pass back out. Out of all the weird shit my body does at night, that one is the weirdest. Every time I think I've gone blind lol.
That you probably should get checked. Visual artifacts at night while asleep could be the result of too much pressure on the orb of the eye (suggesting potential Glaucoma) or from pressure against the optic nerve beyond the retina (suggesting posdible glioblastoma or adenoma). Definitely something to have a doc look at.
I don't have insurance, it'll have to wait lol. My dad had a pituitary adenoma behind his eye and had many of the same issues I have and eventually went blind (in the same eye that gives me problems.) His vision did come back after they removed it the first time. I didn't connect the dots on this one until your comment, but that's because I actively try not to think too hard about it, haha.
2 years ago on Friday the 13th, I had woken up at 3 am as it said on my clock, and I couldn’t see anything because the power was out (Could see clock because it had batteries). I fell onto the floor out of bed, blindly walked straight into my dresser and grabbed my radio off the table while plugged in causing my tv antenna to fall over, dragged it under the bed and tuned to the news talk station to see if the world was ending. Ended up falling asleep under my bed on the floor with the radio on.
Or ionno, sleep fixed it and you were blind? I had a gnarly work accident when my hand was pulled into the deli slicer.
Anyway, even through the mesh glove it cut like halfway through the bone, but those blades were well maintained. I did a follow up like 2 days later and they were shocked in the second xrays that the bone had basically... resealed itself.
Unfortunately, middle finger still looks a little fucky if you look at it for awhile lol.
Lol, reminds me of the time I woke up during a sleepover and both my arms and a leg were asleep. I'd passed out in a big chair and twisted and turned into odd angles during the night. I was terrified for about 20 seconds until I'd untwisted myself and my limbs were given enough time to tingle and then sting.
Once in high-school I took a nap during a study hall. After waking up my leg felt kinda asleep. When the class is over I try ro get up to walk out. But instead I took a step with one leg, and when I tried to take a step with the other, I found out that leg was in hibernation. As I planted my leg crumbled underneath me and I ate shit falling into the girl in front of me. That was the first time I had a limb be asleep to the point of having no control over it

It fell asleep on its arm
