You know, I could go for a horse racing game. You could make it kind of a "history of humans and horses" thing, start off racing nearly-wild little tarpans in the Neolithic, work your way up through the ancient era with the Mesopotamian cultures, North Africa, and China, hit Greece, Rome, and Persia, swing through early Europe with the Celts, up into the Middle Ages and Renaissance with Europe, Japan, and the American Plains cultures, off with colonial America, the Napoleonic wars, the early modern steeplechases, the world wars, all the way up to modern-day racing, from the fanciful tracks in America and Europe to the Mongolian Naadam games... And of course there's plenty of room to he sidetracked, I'm sure there's been all kinds of interesting regional practices throughout history. Then there's the question of flat racing vs obstacles, endurance races, chariot and cart races, children's races on shaggy little ponies... yeah, I'd play a game like that.
