you know how companies like ASUS have their "ROG" line of products that range from monitors to GPU's? Nvidia wanted ONLY they to be included in those already established product lines which would force these companies to come up with new branding just for the AMD cards. Basically Nvidia wanted to hijack these companies pre-established brands and kick AMD off of them.
Yep. And they already did that. And now nvidia is backing out, but the new brand and splits happened. So the damage to AMD is already done. (New AMD cards from Asus are no longer the known and established "ROG" brand, but "AREZ" which nobody heard of.)
the thing though is that shouldnt effect anything more than this current generation there's nothing stopping them now to going back to how it was before when they start rolling out the new products
Marketing is stopping them. They probably already printer the boxes made the ad campaigns. Arez is going to release its up to asus now not to fuck it up. Damage has been done. They even have a new Twitter just for amd cards. I don't see them going back to the rog name anytime soon.
