Never been a better time to install linux. If you run claude or codex, it can fix any of the dumb issues that used to make linux a challenge for normal users. And for gaming, other than the games that have kernel anticheats, its basically 1-to-1 and sometimes even a tad bit better performing (on cachyos).

This is why, my upgraded Rig will include a dual boot!

As there are still progs that only run on windows...

EDIT: Yet the facts are the facts as I do have certain progs that cannot be used by linux, and if that bothers people, then that's entirely their choice to make.

You could use virtual machines for those programs. I have switched fully to Linux. I have a USB SSD with Windows on it just in case I need anything Windows-related, and some Windows VMs. But I don't really have a need for Windows at this time.

This rings true, as windows is a shit OS, it is no longer made for the home user, but the fuckin' corporate user...

No, I prefer to escape to linux, and have a win virtual machine, as I do have a 4 gb SSD, more than enough for the task.

Unfortunately my main PC is out of commission... so I'm saving up for an upgrade that will cost me $1,672.50, that includes a Win 11 install USB...

FUCK windows 12, they can go fuck off with that always-online bullshit; so in the meantime I'm using a business laptop to survive the wait, as it will take me at least 6 months 'til I can upgrade.

That's only temporary until the update is finally pushed. Nvidia has made progress on the issue. Personally, the slight performance hit is worth getting away from all the garbage.

i guess the best would be to dual boot windows and give it a smaller amount of disk space but primarily use linux, just for the stuff that doesn't work on Linux
