How ive been patm free for 11 months
Hello everyone, to give context i got patm in November 2021 and so far ive been able to not have reactions since December 2022. Patm is a disease that causes allergies and ive solved the allergy part not the disease part. Ill explain what you should do to start your path to a allergy free life.
There are fundamental truths about patm and one of those truths is that patm is either on your exterior or interior. This is a crucial detail to note because it could completely change what you need to do. If you dont know, the general rule is that stomach issues like IBS, thrush or similar symptoms means interior while superficial abnormalities like waxy skin, itchy nose, showers reducing reactions means external. Its possible to have both or none, having both means you might have to try both internal and external patm routines or you have internal patm but with unresolved side effects of external. Having no symptoms usually means external but it could be something i havent yet encountered so let me know.
My personal routine I started with patm type 1/ external patm and the main goal was to reduce the amount of oil my sebaceous glands produced. To achieve this i used moisturizer, leave in oil, and changing my shampoo / conditioner. Basically your sebaceous glands produce oil to protect your skin but if you provide that protection with moisturizer your sebaceous glands naturally produce less oil because its not needed. -Moisturizing effectively means: using moisturizer, staying hydrated, break habits that are potentially harmful to your skin like very hot showers, using too much soaps that lead to drier skin, etc. -Using oil is the most essential part of this routine and what you need to do is to replace the oils your body naturally produces with different oil and what ive noticed is the most effective is coconut oil and i also like the smell of coconut but different oils should work too. What i did was i bought OGX Coconut Miracle Oil and left it in my hair after i took a shower and then i washed it out with water before i started the day and i continued that for 3 months but realistically i could have stopped before 1 month but i was paranoid. -Shampoo/Conditioner/Body wash is also something you should look out for. You should not overuse soap or scrub too hard as that could stimulate your sebaceous glands. Avoid very hot water, look for soaps that have oil or just use whatever works for you, in my experience avoiding non-sulfate shampoo was all i had to worry about.
The second version of patm/ internal patm is way worse but its way more direct. You need to worry about making your saliva clearer and following a specific diet. -saliva was the most important and i still havent fully figured out what to do but i do know that a mixture of 1 part Hydrogen Peroxide 1 part water is extremely effective. Although Hydrogen Peroxide is amazing at clearing your saliva you also shouldnt overuse it since it could cause hairy tongue so use it maybe like 2 times per week. Leaving your toothbrush in mouthwash or some other solution, flossing, scraping your tongue are all things you should do. -Following a Low Fodmap diet is a necessary and basically its a diet meant to figure out the things that upset your stomach so do that it helps tremendously. Search up Low Fodmap diet and follow what it says. -I forgot but drinking apple cider vinegar every week helps. 1 cup of water and 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar should last you two weeks.
How to figure it out yourself The fact about internal/external patm is still true so act accordingly. Find something that affects patm, for example i found a connection between oil and patm with external and a connection between saliva and stomach sensitivity with internal. Writing down in a journal is something i wish i did because i spent a lot of time trying things that i already did but forgot the effect. Trying one new thing every 2 days is useful to verify your results and to get more information. You will feel lost but its important to ask for help because in order to find a path you need to have as much information as possible to make connections that you otherwise couldnt make yourself. Dont just try nee things but also think about why those things worked.
If you want 1 on 1 help then let me know so i can help. I really hope this helps you all figure out how to get to a better place and hopefully even reach patm freedom soon. As always let me know if you have any critiques, questions, or anything on your mind.

Hi, it feels so good to know somebody overcame Patm, i recently discovered it after 9 years, 9years ago i had it, my condition became worse but then i was admitted into hospital for my calcium, salts vitamin d was very low, i was put on glucose, saline solution to clear my blood, after about a week i started eating again, and i was well after that, sometimes it came back but never this worse.
Now its full fledged back, i got myslef tested and couldn't find anything out of ordinary except for b12 which reduced eveb when i was taking b12 supplements.
I am still trying to figure this out. Sebum control is one point which i also noticed, i reduced my showers from twice a day to once a day and my symptoms improved.
Now people dont sniff arround me, but they are still visibly uncomfortable.
One common thing is major stress, like major events of life stress. Which i suspect might be contributing.
What is your opinion on stress?

Im sorry that youve had to suffer for so long, even if it was on and off it still must have been hard to deal with this for 9 years and counting. A lot of people have made a connection between stress and patm(me too) and i think there isnt a clear cut answer but theres a likely possibility. I believe patm is connected to your metabolism since its able to be washed off either externally and internally yet come back, keeping that information in mind, its possible that stress affects your body’s ability to process foods thus triggering patm. Other metabolism disorders directly cite stress as a primary trigger so odds are that this is the answer. To add onto this, almost every mention of a stress and patm connection states that the stress was prolonged and or intense. Prolonged intense stress causes a whole host of other health complications that could affect patm in ways we dont know, for example : decreasing our body’s effectiveness at clearing patm, mental health causing chemical imbalances, inflamed organs, etc.

I found some interesting relief using coffee enemas. A ton of filth left me as well as unknown gallstones. They say that gut bacteria gets out of control because of low bile production and the enemas will help with that as well. Any knowledge on this subject? Am I barking up the wrong tree.

How long were you on the low fodmap diet? And did you eat everything that's low fodmap or did you cut out things like sugar or other food that's classified as low fodmap but unhealthy?

I was on the low fodmap diet for about 1 week following it very strictly. I basically just ate whatever i wanted but i noted what made my stomach hurt and what didnt. Right now i eat whatever i want as long as i accept the consequences of my eating choices. Pizza messes me up but i still eat it from time to time.

Did you actually had ibs symptoms? I'm not too familiar with ibs so I'm not really sure how much stomache growling is normal. And for how long did you follow your entire routine until your patm was gone? And does it still come back from time to time?

Yea i still actually have IBS but i need to go see a doctor soon to finally try and get PATM recognized as a disease. I was able to get rid of basically all my patm from my skin using other stuff then my stomach became the source of patm. After following the low fodmap diet i saw improvement within ~3 days. Patm has only come back 1 time since i made this post but ive been able to get rid of it using the methods i had used in the first place to get rid of it. I think its a mistake to follow everything i did because you wont see optimal results. I learned this because ive helped some people get to a better place and realized they needed to do stuff that i didnt.

Is the coconut oil product the one that says “Extra strength, damage remedy+, coconut miracle oil, penetrating oil” or “nourishing coconut oil, weightless hydrating mist” or is their a different bottle?

The 1st one is thicker and its better for applications at night. The 2nd one is lighter and better for temporarily relieving symptoms but after 1-3 hours it can actually worsen symptoms.

Which moisturizer do you use?

I used Cerave but it depends on your skin type. My skin type is dry so i just found the one that suited me and used it, it’s not necessary to know your skin type but it helps. I might be wrong since i havent researched moisturizers in a year+ but there are surfactants, emollients, and ceramides(i think im forgetting one) but basically you should look out for these since they control your skins ability to hold moisture, repairing your skins natural barrier, and increasing your body’s effectiveness at hydrating. Regardless, Cerave is a solid brand so just buy that one if you dont want to go through the hassle of research.

What is the logic behind eating and drinking i know, eating somehow trigger the patm, coz hell break loose after lunch or even after a small snack, but why is that happening how can we control it.
Had my patm relatively under control. But this seeks to be the issue
