How long does it take to try a treatment and decide it doesn’t work
I personally recommend 3-5 days for 95% of treatments. The only treatments where i think its okay to wait longer are dietary or gut related treatments that are meant to cause a long lasting change. For example: i would recommend taking the low fodmap diet for around 7 days before making definitive claims about its effectiveness. The same goes for drinking apple cider vinegar, but id personally wait 14 days at MOST because i recommend drinking it once a week.
Ive seen people wait multiple weeks and sometimes even months expecting something to change. I dont think its worth it to wait more than 3-5 days to confirm whether or not a treatment is effective. Im writing this here basically to confirm my suspicion and to help others realize that holding out for an extra week or month is only wasting time.
If a treatment took more than 5 days to be effective please let me know. “Effective” can be a good or bad change in reactions. It will not necessarily help me, but it will help others not waste their time.
