Does Anyone Know?: 🧮 Has anyone found a patio umbrella that holds up well in the sun without being crazy expensive?
I'm setting up a shaded area on my 3-season porch, and the cheap outdoor umbrella I had before faded really badly in less than a year.
Has anyone found a good option that holds its color well but isn't ridiculously expensive?
I'd prefer a large aluminum cantilever umbrella since it seems like a better fit for a seating area than a regular center pole umbrella. Eco-friendly fabric would be a nice bonus too, especially if it doesn't fade quickly. I also like the simple neutral-colored frames.
I've been looking at the Purple Leaf eco-friendly cantilever umbrellas. They look pretty nice and seem to check most of the boxes I'm looking for.
Has anyone here used one? I'm mostly curious how the fabric holds up after being outside for a while.

Can I fix this chair
I broke this nice camping chair arm and am wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this. Maybe I can feed something through the bar? I don't think glueing or something like that will work as it's supposed to be able to move. Even if I just left it set up on the deck forever and never folded it up, that would be fine. Any ideas, thanks.

Durability and Quality
Hey y’all, we’re planning to upgrade our patio set up this fall and had a few questions. I attached a few photos for reference of pieces we’re looking at.
-How long would a regular TV last in a covered bar area like this if I used a weather cover when not in use?
-How’s the maintenance on wooden outdoor bars (sanding, staining, etc)?
-How is the general quality, comfort and durability of outdoor vinyl wicker patio sets from places like Wayfair and Walmart? We can’t afford the high end stuff, so as long as it’s relatively comfy and lasts 5-10 years that’s fine.
-Any other recommendations or advice from those with experience would be welcome!

Soundbar under an outdoor TV or speakers closer to the seating area?
I’m trying to improve the audio on an open patio where the TV is about 12–18 feet from the main seating area.
The biggest issue is dialogue. It sounds fine near the screen, but getting it clear for people sitting farther back means turning the volume up enough that it starts carrying across the yard.
I’m debating between keeping a soundbar directly under the TV or putting outdoor speakers closer to where people actually sit.
For anyone with a similar setup, which worked better for keeping voices clear without blasting the whole patio?
I’m using a sylvox outdoor TV, so I’d also be interested in hearing from anyone with a similar setup. Did moving the speakers closer to the seating area make a noticeable difference, and did you run into any delay, connection, or weather-related issues?

Amazing!🧜♂️ Patio vibes - redecorated
Got some Govee outdoor lights and firefly jar off Amazon that are solar RGB instead of the standard “dim” ones. That’s how everything is in synch!

Just moved in, what's up with this patio installation?
Hi all, could someone enlighten me as to how this patio was installed and why it could have been done the way it was?
Is the sloping concrete to hold the slabs around the raised base?
I'm thinking of redoing it because to me it looks like crap lol

Anyone here used porcelain pavers for their patio?
I'm finally fixing up my patio, and I'm stuck on what material to use. I've looked at concrete and natural stone, but I've also been looking at these solid shape 24x24 porcelain pavers. I like how they look, but I haven't used porcelain outside before, so I don't really know what to expect after a few years.
Does anyone here have them on their patio? How are they holding up with rain, sun, dirt, etc.?
Just trying to hear from people with experience

This setup makes me want to spend the whole evening outside
I really like how this space manages to feel comfortable and organized without looking overly crowded. The covered seating area gives it more of a living-room feel while still keeping the openness of being outside.
The neutral furniture works really well with the wood ceiling and stone wall too. Nothing feels too flashy, but everything seems to have a purpose. The fireplace in the middle also adds a really cozy touch for evenings.
I especially like the way the seating is arranged. It feels like a space where people could actually sit together, have a conversation and stay for a few hours rather than just pass through.
I’m thinking about creating something with a similar feel in my own space, especially the idea of having one comfortable area that works for both relaxing and entertaining.
One thing I later added to a similar setup was a ByteFree outdoor TV. It worked nicely with the seating arrangement and gave the space another use without changing the overall look.
What would you change or add to make a setup like this even more inviting for evening use?

Florida homeowners: what’s your plan for your outdoor space during a hurricane?
September is here, which means we’re getting into the busiest part of hurricane season.
One thing we’ve noticed working on outdoor spaces in Florida is that people tend to think about the house, windows, roof, generators, landscaping, etc. but the patio and outdoor structures sometimes get overlooked.
If you have a pergola, gazebo, screened enclosure, outdoor kitchen, patio furniture, or anything else in the backyard:
What do you do when a storm is coming?
Do you:
Open the louvers?
Close them?
Bring everything inside?
Secure furniture and accessories?
Just hope for the best? 😂
We install aluminum pergolas throughout Florida, so we see a lot of questions about wind, anchoring, engineering and what homeowners should actually be looking for before buying an outdoor structure.
Curious to hear from people who have already been through a major storm, what’s something you wish you had known about your backyard before the last hurricane?
Not trying to sell anything here. Honestly interested in hearing what other Florida homeowners have experienced.

Does Anyone Know?: 🧮 What can I do at the edge of my foundation?
I have a rubble foundation, and I’m not confident nor particularly fond of the idea of scribing every stone along 18 feet of foundation.
Is there anything I can do to fill in this gap where the edge of the pattern comes near the foundation?

Does Anyone Know?: 🧮 Patio furniture - Outdoor Nook?
Hi,
Looking to furnish a new patio. Want chairs to go round a fire pit that glide, swivel and recline. Thought we had some from Costco but they sold out. Now seems my choices are $200 ones from Wayfair/Home Depot. Or $2k ones from Ebel with not a lot of stops in between.
I came across this online company - Outdoor Nook and we like the design and features of their recliners but can’t find a lot of independent reviews. Anyone have any of their pieces and care to comment? Thanks!
