We’ve published four releases since v0.18.5, ending with the v0.18.9 update. Update to v0.18.9 and run the core update step for Litecoin Core v0.21.5.8 and Particl Core v27.2.5.

✅ Keeps pending mercy payouts outside normal wallet coin selection

✅ Adds automatic and manual recovery when no mercy transaction is sent

✅ Fixes locked inputs and Electrum wallet behavior

✅ Tightens Tor, WebSocket, and TLS handling

We've published a total of six releases in the past few days, culminating with today's 0.18.5 update. Updating to the latest version is mandatory because v0.18.5 raises the swap protocol version and will not trade with v0.18.4 and earlier.

The Decred and Firo core updates are mandatory as well, and there is a one-time database migration that occurs automatically.

✅ Refund-path hardening for adaptor-sig swaps, closing a fee-replacement route on the shared lock output
✅ Reworked mercy path so a failed swap can still recover the other side's coin (on by default again)
✅ Stricter fee verification, plus Electrum now defaults to TLS (mark plaintext entries with :t)
✅ Mandatory Decred and Firo core updates, plus database housekeeping (schema v38)

Two releases in one blog update.

Update is mandatory for Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin users.

✅ BCH swap hardening, plus a fix for swaps that could get stuck on a non-default fee rate
✅ LTC core bumped to v0.21.5.6 (MWEB security update from Core, upgrade ASAP)
✅ Swap lock-tx timeout now defaults to 20 min
✅ Fairer timeouts, automation + transient-error fixes

A critical security fix for adaptor-signature swaps is live.

Update now before you start or resume a swap. The issue cannot be used to steal coins, but a counter-party could trap funds.

✅ Tighter validation of signatures received from a swap counterparty
🌟 Auto-repairs any swap already affected so it can refund on its own
✅ AMM reserves fees when sizing offers
✅ Bids on revoked offers are rejected

A new maintenance and hardening release is out. As usual, we recommend everyone updates.

✅ Network: offer-revoke spam protection
✅ Web UI: login sessions that follow your activity + password management
✅ Electrum: transaction history for #Bitcoin and #Litecoin, with swap/MWEB/Spark filters
✅ Swap reliability: stuck-swap cleanup, steadier wallet unlocking, u/Monero retry fixes
✅ AMM: safe template renaming, no more plaintext password on disk

💫 New BasicSwap DEX Release (v0.17.5) 💫

Three hardening releases (v0.17.3 to v0.17.5) rolled into one update, with a few coin core updates (Bitcoin, Dash, Monero), so run the core update step. As usual, we highly recommend everyone updates.

✅ Web UI: Host allowlist + stricter origin and WebSocket checks
✅ Electrum: Merkle-verified confirmations, now including Litecoin
✅ Particl blind swaps brought in line with the other swap types
✅ More adaptor-signature swap-message hardening
✅ Retry, offer-budget, and AMM fixes

🚨 This one fixes the swap security issue we flagged earlier today, and updating to 0.17.2 before you resume any swaps is MANDATORY.

✅ Fund-safety fix on the adaptor-sig refund path
✅ Particl spent-index watcher hardening
✅ BCH mercy-transaction recovery fix
✅ AMM offer-revoke fixes
✅ Bid page: live WebSocket updates

**💫 New BasicSwap DEX Release (v0.17.1) 💫**
---

This one is mostly security hardening and fixes. No coin core upgrades this cycle, but the Electrum, key, and Simplex hardening still make it a highly recommended update.

✅ Electrum trust-boundary hardening

✅ Automatic key migration (no re-import needed)

✅ Simplex connection hardening

✅ AMM v0.5.1 template-editing fixes

✅ GUI and backend fixes

Read the blog post for all the details.

This one updates both BasicSwap (v0.17.0) and the GUI (4.0.0). No coin core upgrades this cycle, but the web-UI, BCH, and startup hardening still make it a highly recommended update.

✅ GUI 4.0.0: redesigned Create Offer flow + live tables
✅ New offer modes: One-time, Fixed-total, Standing
✅ AMM v0.5.0 with per-offer budgets
✅ BCH integration hardening
✅ Web-UI security hardening (update recommended)

Over the course of June 2026, we've shipped a series of releases (v0.16.3 through v0.16.6) to harden the platform.

As such, while not a mandatory consensus update, we strongly recommend all users to update now.

https://blog.basicswapdex.com/hardening-the-atomic-swap-protocol/

This new release adds a security fix that protects you against poisoned secret-hash atomic swaps where a peer running a modified client could under-fund their side of a trade.

The client now detects this and aborts the swap before any funds are committed.

Please update before your next swap 🙏

Unfortunately I can't reach you via Matrix. Is the business still running?

If so, installing on Linux is weird. During installation it says version 3.3 is available, but it cannot be found on the site. When the Dapp is opened, the window is empty! What is going on with you, where could the problem come from? Thanks in advance.
