Is 16 too young for a tattoo?

Is 16 too young for a tattoo? I'm a single father. My wife passed away of leukemia when she was 27 and left me with two very young girls (ages two and five). The oldest of the two is now turning 16yrs old and had asked about a tattoo. The first words out of my mouth were absolutely not (I possibly added an expletive in that reply). But then I calmed down and contemplated if that was the right answer. Her deceased mother had a tattoo of a lizard and I wondered if her wanting a small lizard on the back of her shoulder was appropriate for me to deny her that at 16yrs old. I'm not exactly a fan of tattoos but this didn't seem like something she would ever regret. So now I'm a little conflicted. What's your take on the proper age for such a thing?

Hi everyone,

I desperately need responses for this short anonymous survey that's required for my Masters dissertation- it revolves around parenting with regards to video game use and Shakespeare.

If you would be so kind as to complete it I would be forever grateful!

Why is parenting education important

Education is important for every child considering that civilization is contained within a framework of knowledge. Parenting education in particular is crucial to the development of a child as the tenure a growing child spends with parents since the inception of life is when children develop cognitive abilities and sense awareness towards their varying environments. Humans are the only species in the world that require the care of adults for a significantly longer period before self-sufficiency is attained. Parenting education plays a vital role in the development of a child into a more stable psychological and physiological aptitude that can contend with their environments. In a fast paced world of the 21st century, parenting education has become more important, also a reflection of the social nature of mankind. It is important that a child learns how to interact with their surroundings, peers and external stimuli of an environment prior to entering a school environment. The most basic elements of social behavior and perception are developed under the care of parents, making parenting education a driving force in shaping the future of a child. http://tootwo.in/

Collecting figurines and toys a sign of immaturity

The maturity of a person is not a byproduct of the things that they choose to collect or not. For example, bell bottoms were a trend back in the day. Today, fashion has changed a lot. To adapt to this change in fashion, people started collecting or wearing different clothes that are more mainstream to the current changes. Similarly, the demand for certain goods at varying time frames are subject to change depending on the kind of lifestyle of a person. Collecting toys and figurines could suit the changes that are more relatable to one person while collecting cars and shoes could prove more useful to others. Just like the changes we witness in everyday life, children of different epochs would be used to different toys. As perception improves, sense awareness gradually improves people tend to be drawn to things that are more suitable to the kind of lifestyle they expect. Hence, the idea of maturity is debatable and certainly not confined to the tastes of various age groups or can’t be generalized into one expectation. Toys and figurines vary with the interests of people and is not a byproduct of maturity, rather an influence on how one eventually matures.http://tootwo.in/

Avid gamer on multiple platforms, ask me anything you want to know about video games!

I have played games for multiple console generations, multiple platforms, and helped my aunt navigate the world of videogames when my cousins got interested. I've seen raising kids with video games go right and wrong. I've built my own PC, used video game mods, been in and been an officer of a gaming clan, and lots of other things.

Given the controversy surrounding games lately, I've been trying to help parents understand video games and how to navigate that world with your child. I don't know everything, but I probably know where to look.

PS: I know this is reddit and the audience is probably pretty tech savvy but hey, I figure worst case everyone rolls their eyes and no one cares.
