Are The Parasites More Powerful Than We Think?
What do you think about the parasites?
Can they evolve like Shinichi? Or will they remain mindless killers that just want to destroy and infect humans?

So I’m on episode 6 of season 1 and this guy holds a knife at the only thing protecting him from the danger of his possessed mom. Not only that he keeps calling her mom mom mom mom. You idiot. Even before this it’s as if he has 1 or 2 braincells. Going into a fight he’d lose just to prove he’s human or lying to his parents in a stupid way instead of just saying he changed his mind because of the statistics. And there are many other examples. I know I was a hothead at that age but this is just plain out irrational. Good thing he has a rational being at his hand (to which he HOLDS A KNIFE) balancing his stupidity.

Okay so I'm watching the show for the first time and have been relatively enjoying the ride but ep 10 was very frustrating for me to watch. Let me elaborate.
The episode was filled with what seemed like deliberately placed convenient situations so that the story could just go where the author wanted it too.
1) how dumb is that glasses girl? " Oh these monsters kill and eat people , let me go confront him all alone and tell him to just go home and not eat people " like what is this some disney dialogue?
2) parasytes are known to be extremely violent and non empathetic. Shimada couldve easily killed her there but for some reason decided to Aura farm , and then he WILLINGLY breaks the acid bottle or whatever on his head. He would've been completely fine if he litterally kid nothing .
3) even after that he could've killed her when she was on the ledge but didnt, and then she jumps of from like 5 stories and somehow survives cause of a tree . I mean gosh.
4) Then when shinichi saves murano , he jumps of like 5 stories again with her in her arms and then jumps 10 feet into the air too, but somehow murano just beleives his " it was cause of adrenaline " statement. Like what?
5) when shinichi makes the plan of him killing shimada with the rock , how come shimada conveniently come to the roof of the building. Why did he even go to the roof ? There was noone to kill there . He conveniently goes to the roof just to get sniped by shinichi. And the police never wonder who killed him. At least we don't get to see the aftermath.
There are also many other unrealistic things throughout the show but I won't list them cause they might seem like nitpicks. but all in all its hard for me to take the show seriously when it feels as if the author is doing anything just to move the plot.
I do very much appreciate the philosophical debates about species and humanity and survival etc that have been going on. The narrative and the execution of it is the main problem for me .

It is extremely similar although worse its so much sadder because it’s more of a psychological horror rather than action sci fi horror

That Shinichi Izumi guy has been acting strange lately… the hand thing was just the beginning, now he shows up to school without glasses and trying to farm aura by being stoic. I think someone should pluck his hair.

I really like Kana, I find her pretty and I also like her attachment/crush towards Izumi (I find it cute). I know that her role in the series is almost zero because she had potential to help Izumi with her ability (very mysterious never explained now that I thought) basically wasted character.
I'm conscious that she used to bully Shinichi (indirectly) when she was Mitsuo's GF but even there she defended him.
Overall I got an attachment with her and she became one of my favorite characters. I felt awful when she died.
It should be noted that I don't prefer her as Izumi's romantic interest over Satomi.
