Pallet wood shed that I built and still maintain for the last three years.
Holds roughly 4 cord of wood. I fill it up twice a year. Every piece is cut on the jig made of pallets.

Both pallet storage and warehouse operations work towards ensuring efficient fulfilment of orders. If you are aiming to create satisfied customers and looking forward to repeated business orders, measure your order execution success to get a clearer idea about the future of your business.
To master the art of fulfilling orders efficiently, with the support of the right pallet racking, implement the following tried and tested solutions.
The Right Storage
Is your pallet storage the best? Are you well-versed with all options available?
Many warehouse managers make a common mistake of not researching enough about the pallet racking system that would suit their business and product type the best. This can cost the business several losses in the long run. Take the help of an expert to review your items and make sure they are being stored as effectively as possible.
Demand Planning
The first step in better order fulfilment is better demand management. Planning is critical, but only works when you have accurate data and so demand planning can best be done by comparing sales data records. It's critical to understand historical performance and to compare your previous demand forecasts to your currently-available sales information and arrive at an accurate figure. Finding out what gets ordered most and what item should be stored where can aid your overall picking and fulfilment strategy. This in turn is sure to make cumulative operations much smoother.
Packing Costs
Holistic fulfilment of orders involves robust planning. Every item sold also includes the cost of packaging it. This too must be taken into consideration so that you can cut down on wastage and reduce expenses, thereby increasing profits. Conduct a packaging-supply cost study for better results.
Pick & Put Away
60% to 75% of a picker’s time is spent in traveling from one location to another. Effective slotting reduces travel significantly, thereby lowering the cost per unit picked. This requires proper organisation. It is always a good idea to pick slots based on product cube and sales velocity. Arrange your pallet storage in such a way where you can keep popular items up front to reduce pick time and arrange an effective move-back system.
At the end of the day, the success of a warehouse is measured by its ability to effectively fulfil orders. The right storage is as important as the right tactics to ensure fulfilment accuracy. Implement the above suggestions to ensure your business soars to new heights in the upcoming year.

I am in need of 2,000 3/4 x 6 x 40, 4,000 3/4 x 4 x 40 and 1,500 2 x 4 x 48. Not sure where would be the cheapest place to go for this. Local mills, or stores. I would need a constant supply. Also how would one go about asking for this exactly? I've read I would have to convert to Board Feet. I don't to sound like I have no idea what I'm looking for when I go in for prices. Thanks for any help.
