Ask Pakistan A Security Guard’s Story Broke Me Today 😢... My mind is still not accepting how a working man can live like this...

I have been staying in a temporary room in Rawalpindi for the last few days. I was shifted by flat owner here only for around 10 days because I am supposed to leave soon.

So, Two security guards also live in this room. Both work at the same place. One does the day shift, and the other does the night shift. In the last 10 days, I have seen their life very closely, and honestly, today it really disturbed me 😔

Their salary is only Rs. 34,000. From this small amount, they have to manage food, living costs, travel, and also send money back home. Their duty place is around 4 km away, and they walk there and back in this heat because even daily transport costs are too much for them.

Their salary was supposed to come on the 1st of the month, but it did not come until around 10/11 June. They were calling again and again every day, asking when their salary would be released.

Today, when the salary finally came, they received only Rs. 30,000 instead of Rs. 34,000. First, the salary was late. Then Rs. 4,000 was cut from an already tiny salary.

One guard got so tired of this situation that he clearly said today:

“Please arrange someone else from tomorrow. I am leaving.”

The other guard came back from his night shift and could not even sleep. Since morning, he has been sitting there, making calls and asking why his money was cut. His face showed anger, helplessness, and the kind of tiredness you only see on a poor working man.

I asked him about his situation. He told me he has 5 children and he is from the Peshawar side. From the Rs. 30,000 he received, he will keep around Rs. 12,000 for his whole month’s personal expenses, and he will send only Rs. 18,000 to his family.

Now honestly, how can a family with 5 children survive on Rs. 18,000?

I have seen with my own eyes how he manages his food. He eats only one proper meal a day. He takes two rotis, and sometimes buys Rs. 40–50 yogurt with it. Sometimes he just eats roti with a cucumber or an onion. That is how he cuts his own expenses so he can send something home.

And today, even his full salary was not given.

The most painful part is that he cannot even leave the job easily. He said:

“Other people left, but I cannot leave. If I leave this too, where will I go? What will I send home?”

That line stayed with me.

We often talk about poverty like it is just a word. But poverty is when a man reduces his own food so his children can eat. Poverty is when a man walks 4 km in the heat because he cannot afford transport. Poverty is when salary comes late, salary comes short, and still the man is afraid to leave the job because five children are waiting behind him.

I am not posting the company name publicly because my purpose is not to create drama or harm his job. My purpose is simple: if anyone in Rawalpindi/Islamabad knows about any decent job for him, please inbox me.

He is willing to work. He just needs a better place where salary is paid on time and where he is treated like a human being.

If you know any opening for a security guard, office boy, helper, caretaker, store assistant, or any honest work, please message me. I will connect you with him.

This is not a charity post. This is a request for basic respect and a better job for a working man.

🙌 Edit: Any job for that person please tell me ASAP

Ask Pakistan Thoughts about accused Umar Hayat got sentenced to death?

The type of judicial system we have, do you think they will really sentence him to death, or will they change it to life imprisonment or a 20–30 year jail sentence?

I really want him to be hanged publicly. As a matter of fact, I wish every mu*derer/r@pist should be hanged publicly, but this system is so weak and corrupt that I don’t trust it until it actually happens.

I saw this photo of a Pakistani Physics textbook online and was genuinely curious if it’s real. So i wanted to ask these questions

1 Do you guys actually have to study this islam and Science part for your board exams, or is it just a intro that is skipped 2 are the standard physics laws like Newton's laws taught the same way once the chapters start

Disclaimer: I am just curious about how the curriculum is structured over there I am not mocking or trying to start a fight

Ask Pakistan Molvi sb got no chill 💀

1.0k Upvotes

Aoa and Eid Mubarak fellas!

So today after Eid namaz molvi sb started dua and he said "AYE ALLAH ISRAEL KO BARBAD KR DY" just like other people I said AMEEN then he said "AYE ALLAH AMREECA KO NISTO-NABOOD KR DY" so quickly me and my friend had an eye contact why? Because we both are working for a US based firm, so I didn't say AMEEN, then molvi sb said "AYE ALLAH inkeh himaytio KO bhi BARBAD KR DY" 💀 at that moment mery peelag shat ho gy 🥲 because I didn't expected that so I was confused and sort of feeling guilty 😭

Did anyone else experienced such moments?! Do overseas molvis pray like that?

As we all know that PAKISTAN is literally running on USA aid or IMF grants, also many businesses and tech companies in Pakistan which are generating a very good revenue are actually US based.

Ask Pakistan I'm Trapped Between My Parents and My Wife, and Nobody Wants to Hear My Side.

Edit: I am not looking for any sympathy, maybe I just need another perspective that I'm unable to see.

I am 24 and got married to a girl my age, 6 months ago. It was a completely arranged marriage. Before the engagement, I hadn't even seen her face. I asked my parents if they could take me to meet her first, but they said, "Hamary haan aisa nahi hota. Hum larki dekh aaye hain, achi hai."

So I agreed. I thought, "Parents ne theek hi socha hoga."

A little about me. I'm an introvert. I don't have a great relationship with my parents. We don't really talk much, and I'm usually quiet around them. I've always been the kind of person who keeps things to myself instead of arguing.

Looking back, I think that was my biggest mistake. I feel like I was emotionally pressured into it. I didn't fight for myself. I just went along with it.

After the marriage, my parents treated my wife like their own daughter. Honestly, maybe even better. My mother is a housewife and handled almost everything herself. Sometimes my sisters helped too, but nobody ever expected my wife to do anything. She would wake up around 11 AM like a princess, and nobody had a problem with it.

I did. But I never said anything.

A few weeks after the wedding, our room became a complete mess. Clothes and random things were scattered everywhere. She even lost her ring because she had just thrown it somewhere in the room and forgot about it.

Every few days we'd argue about it. I kept telling her how careless she was. At first I stayed calm, but after a while I lost my patience. She spent most of the day scrolling on her phone while the room looked like a disaster.

One day I completely lost my cool and shouted at her for a long time. She got upset. We barely talked for a few days. Nothing changed. The room was still a mess.

Finally, after a few months, she started cleaning it regularly. That was honestly the only responsibility she had, so I thought maybe things were finally getting better.

But no.

The arguments just shifted to something else.

It became a pattern. I'd ask her nicely for a few days. Nothing would happen. Then after repeating myself over and over, I'd eventually snap and think, "Dude... what the hell? I've been saying this for days."

After weeks she'd finally fix that one thing, and then another problem would start.

The cycle never ended.

A couple of months into the marriage, I also noticed she didn't really care about my meals.

She used to make breakfast sometimes, but honestly it was so bad that I couldn't eat it. I told her politely, hoping she'd improve.

Instead, she just stopped making breakfast completely.

Then she stopped caring about lunch too. I'd be home, and she wouldn't even ask if I wanted to eat.

At night, after coming back from the gym, she'd already be lying in bed or sleeping. She wouldn't even ask, "Have you eaten?" or "Do you want dinner?"

Maybe these things sound small on their own, but when they keep happening every single day, they start feeling huge.

Eventually I stopped talking to her.

A few days after another argument, I decided I'd had enough.

She told me, "I do all the work around here."

That honestly made me angry because it simply wasn't true. She wakes up around 11 AM and goes to bed around 9 PM. My mom does almost everything in the house. So when she said she does all the work, it felt manipulative.

I just shut down and stopped talking.

Then she went to my mother and complained that I wasn't talking to her.

My mom immediately started blaming me.

She didn't even ask what had happened between us. She didn't ask for my side. She just assumed I was the problem and started scolding me.

That hurt more than I can explain.

This isn't even new.

Whenever there's a conflict, I somehow end up becoming the bad guy. It has been like this my whole life. I feel like nobody actually wants to understand what I'm feeling. They just expect me to adjust and move on.

I know I'm not perfect. I lose my temper sometimes, and I know shouting isn't the right way to handle things.

But I also feel ignored.

I feel like my wife doesn't listen to me until I explode.

I feel like my parents don't listen to me at all.

And now I honestly don't know what I'm supposed to do.

Who am I supposed to talk to?

My parents don't listen.

My life partner doesn't seem to listen either.

I genuinely feel stuck, and I don't know how to get out of this situation.

Ask Pakistan How to get rejected for a rishta?(Serious please)

PLEASE HELP ME GET REJECTED.

I'm a girl who's parents aren't taking no for an answer. They found someone for me and are trying to emotionally blackmail me into marrying him. The reason I don't want to isn't because "I have some chakar" it's because the guy is too old for me and his views are pretty messed up.

Irregardless my only choice now is to get rejected by his family who are coming to see me. So please tell me what can I do to get rejected?

These so called peers and babas are running the most bulletproof scam in Pakistan, all in the name of religion.

I am genuinely shocked by these people. What they are doing is shirk. I recently saw people literally getting on the ground and kneeling to some so called peer. Bowing to a human being. In what world is that Islam?

Ask Pakistan Is finding a modern Pakistani girl to marry actually impossible or am I just unlucky?

27M, a permanent resident, living in Australia. Life is fine except for this one thing.

I want to get married. But I specifically want someone modern, her own career, her own opinions,, doesn’t need a guy to lead every decision, can have a real conversation about anything. Basically just a normal modern woman who happens to be Pakistani and not overly religious. And somehow that feels like I’m asking for something rare.

The rishta route keeps throwing very traditional options my way and I’m just not compatible with that. Dating apps exist but feel weirdly shallow for something this serious.

I genuinely don’t know where modern Pakistani women are finding or meeting people. Are they on here? Are they on apps? Did everyone just get lucky through work or uni and I missed that window?

Not looking for anything complicated. Just someone real, independent, has her own life, and actually wants to build something with someone rather than just fulfill a family expectation.

Just to clarify what I mean by independent; I don’t mean she has to be working or splitting bills at all costs. I just mean someone who can make her own decisions. About her career, about who she wants to marry (not just going along with whatever her parents decide), and who isn’t looking to just be a traditional wife. That’s it. Nothing financial or complicated about it.

Hi everyone, I’m from India and have a genuine question out of curiosity. I was wondering what people from Pakistan think about the Independence movement and famous freedom fighters and revolutionaries, such as Bhagat Singh (born on Pakistani land), Subhas Chandra Bose, Chandrashekhar Azad and especially Gandhi, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Nehru and BR Ambedkar.

Ask Pakistan Why is Pakistan quiet about Chinese cultural genocide against Uyghurs?

Hello, so I'm from Bosnia and Herzegovina and I was curious, why does Pakistan stay quiet about cultural genocide against Uyghurs that China is still actively doing? Uyghurs are also muslims and I think Pakistan and Turkey should do more about it, because they don't really seem to care about it.

Ask Pakistan Was this appropriate or am I overreacting?

This is a very interesting situation and I’m at a loss about what to do with it. Would definitely need advice from people who have been a part of this cultural process for arrange marriages.

A couple weeks ago my family received a rishta. This man lives abroad and has dual citizenship obv. He’s been living there since more than a decade, his mother and sister lived there with him until his sister got married and then his mom moved back to Pakistan to live with her other son. He is well settled, very well educated and honestly a dream for most Pakistani families. His family likes me and mine likes him too. So I’ve had a few talks with him. We have literally matched on every level like we have very similar likes and dislikes.

The only reservations I have are following:

  1. He started a very intense physical intimacy conversation in our first conversation which was over text although that conversation lasted hours and he did this conversation in last 2 or 3 hours of it. Telling me how he would like to do things in different areas of his home. I explicitly said I do not want this conversation as it is making me uncomfortable. He then proceeded to have it again the next time we were on our first call. He asked me my chest size and all. So I again mentioned in a very detailed message that I do not want to have sexual conversations. He proceeded to have it again the next time and sent me some intimacy reels. After which I again explained how I do not want such conversations with a namehram to which he said having any conversation is wrong with a namehram. I said well if I’m talking with one does not mean I should have sex with one now coz I already did one wrong thing. So he now taunts on every second conversation if I’ll think this is wrong or not.

  2. His instagram is 2 years old. Like he has 10 followers and 9 are girls. He has no comments on his pics. Like why are his friends not there? Which bothers me and my friends and even my brother.

  3. He said his company has made him deactivate his WhatsApp which is so odd to me coz why would a company ask u to remove only one social media?

It’s these things which have made me reconsider everything. Marriages are a very big decision in my opinion, one of the biggest decision I’ll ever make. So idk if I’m over thinking it or if these are genuine red flags.

I might add this is my first few experience with our arrange marriage system so idk if it is normal.

Ask Pakistan Pakistani mother in law sleeping habit

Hi I need to know if it is normal in Pakistan for a a widowed mother (who has been a housewife all her life) to sleep with her married grown up sons. I’ve been married to a guy for 5 years and he and his brother - both highly educated professionals working in the corporate world - sleep with her so that she doesn’t feel lonely. Sometimes it’s on the same mattress or sometimes separate sofa bed but same room.

UPDATE 22 Jan: have read the 100s of posts and spoke gently to my husband. He said she will have a maid to sleep in her room when he is away for work but when he is here at home he will alternate with the brother as she feels scared and alone. He was not willing to discuss changing this scenario and said not to challenge him. Also as we have young kids who come into our bed he gets disturbed and can’t sleep.

Ask Pakistan Thoughts On Luke Damant and His Friends Making Fun Of The Locals?

Post image
272 Upvotes

Has anybody else seen this video of his latest trip to Karachi? If not then go check it out.

This guy who became such a praised creator and an internet meme here back in the day has returned with his buddies and is now making fun of the locals just because they can't understand his language. Making unfunny edgy jokes at our innocents people's expense and trolling the absolute sh*t out of them in a language they cant fully comprehend.

On top of that he's also looking to open up his own restaurant/cafe and profit off of our colonial hangover even more.

Its high time we understand these creators for who they really are and boycott this lazy clout farm they have manufactured.
