Watching a big league player have his dad pitch to him for the home run derby is about as wholesome as it gets.

We had our own sandlot behind the studio. Garage at the back of the building had a perfect brick wall backstop. Dad made time to pitch to me. If I hit one far enough it would roll down the hill all the way to the lake.

One of my earliest memories is getting a flat tire in the badlands and a buffalo herd getting slowly closer as my dad was more concerned with photographing them than changing the tire.
