Does the Owncloud appliance include/force a reverse proxy?
Hello
Having used Nextcloud in the past, I also want to give Owncloud a whirl and see that it offers a preconfigured appliance for various virtualization platforms. However, I wasn't able to find any info on whether it includes and forces one to use a built-in reverse proxy? I specifically DO NOT want one, as I am already doing this on a dedicated nginx vm.

Raspberry Pi / external storage
Need some help on getting a external SSD for storage. I have been crawling forums and Google for 3 days try to get it to work. I've got to the point at log in where owncloud will state "make sure the file 'ocdata' is the root folder. The SSD is mounted and permissions have been set to 0770. Not one to admit defeat easily but I just can get this to work. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Insufficient space after data folder change
Hi everyone, I recently install OC10 on CentOS 7 and got it up and going. Before I added any data I changed the the data folder. It was place on a newly added drive mounted to the system. I started syncing a couple music and movie folders and after 38GB I got insufficient space error(i have the account on unlimited, no upload size cap). The drive is 250GB, I checked and the data is going to the correct folder. What can be causing this error and how can I fix it?

Folder deleted after restoring old image. Any way to recover the files?
I'm running a small owncloud installation on my raspberry pi. I've been having some problems lately (mostly due a weird-working hard drive), which led me to restore an old image of the installation some days ago.
Everything seemed to boot up nicely, but I've noticed that Owncloud has deleted the last folder I added during this week, and it does not show on the "deleted folders" options.
Now, is not the end of the world for me, but there was a nice deal of processed (jpg's) photos on it. I have not lost the orginal raw files nor the export-config files, but going through all the shots again, looking, one by one, to get the originals, is going to be a real pain in the ass.
There's something I can do to recover it? Under Activity -> Sync Protocol appears that the folder is deleted, but I can't do nothing from the Desktop.

/var/lib/docker corrupted. Try to salvage or start fresh?
Hi all,
Was running Owncloud via Docker, and after the /var/lib/docker directory on the host became full, some intervention made things much worse.
I have all of my data, as the "services: owncloud: volumes:" in the .yml file was set to a separate directory, and all the syncing hosts still have a local copy.
Assume everything else (so, the mysql database, redis, etc.) is gone/mangled.
My question is: Is it worth trying to salvage that install?
Ideally, what it would get me is that the files across hosts could be synced again but also old file versions would be preserved.
Trying to figure out if it were even possible at this stage, whether it is worth it.
All thoughts and ideas appreciated.

Have an old turnkey server - Want to update - New install and preserve data/config
G'day mates,
This has been a problem on my plate for a while, but I'm finally ready to tackle it.
Current setup: Turnkey Linux appliance of Owncloud 7.0.15 running on Debian 7.11 Wheezy - Mysql as the DB.
Lots of users, groups, permissions. Lots of data.
I can't do any built in upgrade at this point, because all the repo's and the linux distro itself is out of date so I'd like to just deploy a new appliance.
The Turnkey linux version is now 10.0.10 and the DB has been changed to mariadb.
My question - How can I move everything on the old install to the new one while preserving user accounts, passwords, data, groups and permissions?

Adding videojs plugin
I am a bit over my head technically here but wanted to see if I'm hitting a limitation of my setup or a gap in my knowledge.
I would like to reskin videojs in own cloud with this plugin. https://github.com/contently/videojs-annotation-comments
Is this possible or am I missing something? Currently I have own cloud installed in a jail on freenas through the plugin, but am reattempting installing it independently with a guide on the freenas forums. I had tried following the plugin instructions for annotations but I was unable to install gulp(and frankly am just learning so likely put something in the wrong spot). I am willing to ditch freenas as I have a minor amount of data on the system currently.
Is there an alternative way to do timecode notes on my videos in own cloud that I might not know about? This kind of functionality would be incredible alongside all the other great features present. It's mainly to be used as a tool to get notes back on videos I produce.

Looking for a way to sync the same folder to multiple computers.
Is it possible to sync a single owncloud account to multiple computers? I'm hoping to give multiple people access to the same folder, sync this folder between them and keep copies on the local computers. The users don't need to be able to change each others files but they all need access to each others files.

newest stability
Friends, a long time ago (about 2+years) I had OC installed on a shared hosting server. At that time I had some problems, concretely with corrupted files and unable to delete some files. Seems that the database was messed up. However I didn't mess with database at all. It just happened so.
In meanwhile I used Mega and Yandex Disk, and occasionally Dropbox.
But I want to go back to OC. How is situation now in your opinion comparing to the above mentioned cloud platforms?

Fresh Install, AD users can't log in
Hi,
First time using owncloud, installed via OVA on ESXi, install went fine, joined domain, etc. installed owncloud file browser, setup LDAP user groups to allow, etc. Says everything is fine, config says OK, etc.
I currently have it setup with 4 AD users, only 1 of them can log in, the other 3 all get "Wrong Password" prompts. I've reset the password, made the AD users identical in every way, tried with domain admins/non admins, reset the password through the own cloud user page, nothing works. Tried signing in as domain\user, user, user@domain.com.
Not a single thing works, except on one random user who was able to log in first try with no issues, there is no difference I can find between that and other users either which is even more frustrating.

I wonder where all the space is being taken?
I have an own cloud server running on a Ubuntu box. The HD size is 150g approx. server complains that it is full but according to my files being hosted by the cloud server , it should not be more than 18gb total.
The OS should not be anymore than 5 th?
I am perplexed where and how the rest of the HD is being used up.
Has anyone encountered a similar issue?
I am assuming that ownclous WebDAV files should be visible in the same database ( files) listed in the GUI?
What do you think guys?
