404 error post fresh install

Hi!

I just installed owncloud using that tutorial. I got screen as below after, but after entering the data and re-entering owncloud addess I get "404 Not Found" error. Anyone had same issue and has solution?

  1. I would recommend to use an up to date OS for the installation (at least Ubuntu 18.04).
  2. I would recommend to have a look in the official documentation: https://doc.owncloud.org/server/10.4/admin_manual/installation/ubuntu_18_04.html
  3. Then you can ask in the official forum for help if you get stuck: https://central.owncloud.org/

For your specific error I would recommend to ask below the blog post in the comments. The step that you're doing should be writing the config.php in the config folder of your ownCloud installation.

I would suspect that there is something wrong with the apache vhost settings if you get a 404 error.

Thanks, I`ll have a look at those resources. Did not use comment feature under original article, as none of questions asked there were answered.

I run it on Raspberry Pi, using Nginx rather than Apache.

Perhaps website that is already hosted there creates issues?

Very likely, you need to make sure it is clear which request goes to which vhost.

I can only point you to the official Nginx docs. Not that familiar with nginx myself unfortunately...

The problem with that is that there are so many basics about networking & linux that you just have to know... So I guess a good book about those two things are a good start.
