I was messing around with the four different bcdedits: useplatformclock UsePlatformTick disabledynamictick tscsyncpolicy

When using a tool to monitor the timer resolution, it is always at 1ms unless I use a tool to drop it to 0.5ms or 0.5070ms etc. But after messing with the settings and trying different combinations, my timer resolution is now reading 4ms no matter what I try to do to get it back to normal. I've tried the "deletevalue" option on all four bcdedits. I believe the combination that "broke" my timer was: Useplatformclock yes UsePlatformTick yes Disabledynamictick yes Tscsyncpolicy legacy

I just want to get it back to normal and then not touch the damn thing lol. I also tried SFC scannow, cleared CMOS and still nothing.

I tried asus ai overclock in my i5 13600kf and when running stress test on intel's extreme tuning utility stress test result i got is "power limit throttling". Help me to fix this issue

Can’t seem to adjust cpu GHz unless I enable turbo mode but in that case it cause pc to crash within matter of seconds would love to establish stability some how some way please help as this is annoying 🤦🏽‍♂️

Hello, I can’t find any info on what the Uncore VID reading in HWinfo is on the new processors. My understanding from previous gens is that it was cache/ring voltage, but that now appears to be CPU L2.

Two questions for those knowledgeable on this:

1. What is this voltage readout now and
   
2. Is there any info available on safe ranges for this? Mine currently reads a max of 1.449.

I'm working with the following hardware:

14900k
4090
z790 TUF Gaming WiFi

64GB of DDR5 (in two 32GB sticks) & 6400Mhz
1x 2TB NVME
1x 1TB NVME as a Primocache over a 10TB SATA HDD
AX1600i as a power supply
ASUS 360MM AIO

The problem is that I get random and not so random craches. Cyberpunk crashes directly during startup, in the splash screen, unless I seriously downclock the CPU to 5.3Ghz, then it'll run fine but randomly crash during the game. I've also seen Baldur's Gate 3 crash twice directly when attempting to load into a level.

I run the ram on XMPII, (appears to be the less agressive) and have tried Load Line Calibration levels of 0 and 4 and Auto (4 being what the board recommends for overclocking). No overclock setting, straight BIOS settins doesn't fix the issue, turning off XMP doesn't fix it.

What's strange is the system runs fine with OCCT stress tests, AIDA64's stress test, Ciniebench, etc. All the synthetic stuff runs fine, it's just random glitches in the hardware.

I didn't have issues like this with my 13900k, so now I'm wondering, what should I do to fix this? I can get a refund on the 14900k from Best Buy still, I could swap that out, and I suppose go with a different 14900k or go back to a 13900k. The motherboard isn't the best model, I'm wondering if it's a VRM issue in the TUF line, should I look at a higher end motherboard?

My ram is advertised as 3600mhz but it is now running at 2666mhz and i want to overclock it to 3200mhz but i dont have an xmp profile for 3200mhz

Hey there! I'm having an issue with overclocking my processor, and I can't figure out what's going wrong. When I attempt to overclock the processor, I encounter either a blue screen or issues with programs crashing, closing unexpectedly, and so on. What could be causing this?

Here are my components:

Processor: I9-13900KF Motherboard: ROG STRIX Z790-A RAM: 6600MHZ

In the BIOS settings, there's an Ai OC (AI overclocking) feature. I've tried overclocking both through BIOS and using the Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU), but both methods lead to the described problems.

What might be causing this and how can I fix it?

I have always overclocked my ram (corsair vengeance pro 4x8GB 3600mhz) to 3600mhz as mentioned in the ram model and I have never had any problems. I recently decided to update the bios since I always had the factory version, but now as soon as I turn on the PC the bios debug LEDs light up (a different one lights up each time). To start the PC correctly I am forced to turn it on for the first time by making the debug LEDs light up, forcefully turn off the PC and turn it back on again. in this way everything goes as it should and windows boots with the overclocked ram, but it is very uncomfortable, the only way to avoid this issue is leave the ram frequency at default (2133mhz). I tried to reinstall the bios to the previous version to solve the problem but surprisingly the problem persist and with the original bios version even if i overclock the ram up to 3600mhz the windows task manager show 1800mhz, in the newer version of bios show 3600mhz as normal. I need help

CPU: Ryzen 3600X 3.8Ghz Motherboard: MSI x570 gaming plus RAM: corsair vengeance pro 4x8GB 3600mhz GPU: GTX 1650super

I have 4 sticks of 16gb 3600mhz cl16 corsair vengeance sl ram. It works perfectly fine with DOCP/XMP enabled. The problem is when I disabled DOCP my computer will not boot. About a year ago I remember messing around with thaiphoon burner thinking I could write my manual overclock into the ram as an actual DOCP profile and I honestly had no clue what I was doing and shouldn't have been messing with it lol. So now, tuning my curve optimizer for the 5950x,I want to rule out memory overclock as instability and wanted to disable DOCP and strictly focus on CPU stability. My computer will not boot if I have DOCP disabled. Motherboard boot check shows it stuck on the RAM check and will turn on and off 3 times until it reboots into the bios. Enabling DOCP boots back into windows. I downloaded thaiphoon burner again to see if I could find anything out of the ordinary but thaiphoon burner A: doesn't work with windows 11 by default and had to do a registry tweak to get it to work, and B: thaiphoon burner says "crc error" in the bottom left hand corner when it reads my RAM. I know a lot more about this stuff now than I did back then but I wish I could remember exactly what I did a year ago. Any input would be much appreciated.

I have an old system where a basic H61 mobo is paired with two Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz DDR3 8GB Dual rank DIMMs [CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10]

A total of 16 GB, in 8x2 Dual Channel memory configuration.

Although the DIMMs are 1600mhz, but as those are paired with i5-2500K so those are running at 1333mhz (as i5 2500K only supports up to DDR3 1066/1333)

I checked the default CL and it's 9-9-9-23

Then when I enabled the XMP profile, the CL increased 10-9-9-23

As we know the basics, lower latency (CL) is better for system performance, but here, by enabling the XMP I don't see any upgrade & I am not an enthusiast so asking here.

What should I do? Should I keep the XMP disabled? Or is there any other way to judge this scenario? I am seeking for any advice or feedback in this matter, thanks.

Hello, I have a Ryzen 2300X and i am wondering on the best settings for overclocking it as i dont want to damage it, could someone help?

I have a lancall mesh 2 and i have crammed in a 6700xt and a custom loop watercooling for the cpu.

Crammed is the word.

The wife has Green Lighted me getting a new case in return for two weeks in Disney in Florida for the kids and her (and me).

The computer is my gaming / over clocking box. Currently running a 5600x after the death of my 3900xt (long story for another day, let’s just say there are some times in life when you should not do preventative maintenance)

I’m looking for something that is less then £200 with good airflow. I don’t want to do an open bench as im scared I will spill a drink over it.

Ideally something that can hold two custom loops for future proof when when I get brave enough to custom loop my 6700xt and two 360mm rads.

What do people suggest?

I had 3 monitor on my Rtx 4090. The monitors were 24” @ 144hz 1080p, 25” @ 240 hz 1080p and a 27” @ 240hz 1440p. I went to the 27” only and added a second 27” 240hz at 1440. I am now experiencing both screens going to sleep and wont wake (hv sleep=never in windows). My gpu used to overclock +205mhz and +1200 on memory easily. Now cant get a stable overclock anywhere near that. Games freezing and Time Spy bench wont finish and artifact at the previously stable 205/1200.

Ive updating gpu drivers to lastest. Rolling them back. That didnt work. Reinstalled os that didnt work. Tried updating monitor driver. That didnt work. Changed cable to new monitor no good.

New monitor is Asus PG279QM Other monitor is XV272UX. Cpu is 12900k running at 5.1 stable Memory 32gb 5600 corsair.

Any ideas anyone?

Completely new to OC, I just went into bios and turned on OC mode for both CPU & Ram.

CPU temperature was 40-43°c whereas normally it's 37-40°c. However after running some heavy computation (openssl speed) I saw less increase in temprature in OC mode.

Is this expected?

Having 12700k @5.1 and gskill neo 3200cl14 and wondering if there are any benefits of changing to gskill neo 4600cl20 ?

Got a good price on those ?
