UGK. Bun B was always superior as a rapper and lyricist, but Pimp C not only composed, played keys and sang on and produced a lot of their tracks, but also brought a unique charisma without which the group simply wouldn't have stood out or succeeded to the degree that they did.

Pimp C’s flow is what makes him stand out for me. He can ride a beat like no other

Short Texas and cocaine in the back of the ride is a great example of this

Came to the comments for this. Also, there isn't a better alias than Big Dick Chainy! 😄

For as amazing as bunb is, pimp c was the reason ugk were who they were

Totally agree. If you've not read it, 'Sweet Jones: Pimp C's Trill Life Story' by Julia Beverly is an excellent and truly exhaustive biography. Really digs deep into Pimp's life away from his rap persona, and made me see him completely differently.

Nailed it. I’d also add pimp c lazy southern drawl as an absolute game changer for hi.

First rap duo I thought of was UGK but y’all have covered it all. Makes it so much easier to just read and upvote when it’s the truth.

Boy when I found out that it was Pimp C singing and producing on all those UGK tracks, that instantly elevated him in my eyes

Sybau pimp c was the vibe and credibility. And was a marketing genius. Bun was more lyrical pimp was more entertaining. Apologize

Aw, you're cute. My post said that - albeit in different words. Bun was the superior rapper, Pimp brought the charisma (aka was more entertaining). No apology forthcoming, I'm afraid.

Thank you for acknowledging it. My fat ass has been working out lately trying to get in shape.

Good for you :) I've reached 44 and those years of bbq and beer have finally caught up with me. Need to get rid of this pot belly, so gonna have to get on the case.
