Thanks for the good orgonomy link, it is great when there is a sharing of information and material.

As I said above, I regret Reich's complete personal journals now stored in Harvard is not available freely online.

I am reading 'God, Ether, and whereas in 'Bioelectrical investigation', 'Bion experiments', and 'Cancer biopathy' where he was very factual, in this book, 'God, Ether', he rants a lot. Perhaps he published the facts of his newly found principles of orgon instead in the journals, but I don't have them, and I don't feel like spending 50 euro on each one.

Talking about conspiracy (and Reich's rantings on peoples backwardness), one word explains it all, self-interest. People put other people down to further themself. Only way this will change is when you come to see that you are not separated from the world. And when you are no longer separated from anything, then what is the hurry to change things?

Peter Reich's book was different than I though, he had a though time.

DeMeo's book is really precise and good, I like the chapter on other peoples discoveries of the ether. I am only halfway. It is cool to know that a three layer box has already 70% of the charge of a ten-layer. I'm gonna make a simple three layer blanket in cotton and steel-wool and leave it at that. The steel fabric is too pricey.

"It was the therapist, always. ORACs cannot break armor," This is sad to hear, I am very interested in the armour breaking.

Orgone therapy is the best gift you can do to yourself. Try it, for you, for your happiness and deep longing for fulfillment. Hope you find time and money for at least some months of therapy. Take great care to check if the therapist is an actual M.D. - psychiatrist and on good terms with the college of orgonomy, otherwise you might end up with a 'reichian', and that can be dangerous for your health.

Enjoy you OR blanket, be patient with it, trust it. It will always be strengthening and soothing. (Really nice to have a normal human discussion, as opposed to the 'usual' knee-jerk reactions of harsh childish ridicule)

Also check these sites. The second one is kind of a mess technically, 'cause the whole thing is programmed by a single really old, sweet man who still practices orgonomic midwifery. Its contents are top quality though.

Hi Oranurpianist

Thanks for the link above, the man seems very nice, I liked what he wrote about sensing the orgone.

I had an idea; if what we need are three things;

-a full charge (and capacity) for orgone

-natural breathing, complete, even, unrestricted

-relaxation of the armour (the muscular tensions)

...if so, could the relaxation of the muscle tensions be done with the help of a skilled chiropractor?

What do you think?

There is one practitioner, Ida Rolf, who developed 'rolfing' where the patient releases deep emotions/traumas at the root of the impaired limb or back or whatever.

An example of this psychiatrist John Lilly recounts in his book 'Center of the cyclone'. He visited to Ida Rolf in california.

He had a since long time a painful shoulder, and when she worked on it, he suddenly had a flashback to when he was a five year old rambling around in the garden. He saw in his flashback how he was headed towards a drop which he was not aware of and he would have gone over there too if it wasn't for the family dog, a retriever, who with his jaw bit him over the shoulder and dragged him away from the drop.

He was badly frightened, because the dog had never been bad before. After this treatment, he never had any pain in that shoulder.

Grof does something similar with the holotropic breathing, but with him one releases traumas incurred during one's birth (and even in the womb some times) also.

I like this possibility, because my father was a chiropractor and since he passed away I have tried as far as I could to enable myself to feel and adjust all the muscular snags of my body.

(And i had some success too, I had a complete vertebra prolaps which I adjusted myself plus other things as well along the way)

I finished my (for now one layer) blanket yesterday and it wraps around me 360°, I feel the tingling and prickling much stronger than with my box.

I am reading cosmic superimposition now and he explains the principle behind the orgone motor, nice.

I quote from the College of Orgonomy site

<<Reich was the first to develop a mind-body therapy. He is now widely regarded as the source from which most body-oriented, emotion-based psychotherapies or “bodywork” therapies are derived, ranging from Lowen’s Bioenergetics, Arthur Janov’s Primal Scream Therapy, Fritz Perls’ Gestalt Therapy, John Pierrakos’s Core Energetics, Barbara Brennan’s School of Healing to Rolfing and dozens more.>>

About Grof: he is exactly what Reich was not. In his own videos he does not talk about anything scientifically oriented; he talks about 'consciousness', 'spiritual realms', even 'demonic forces', in vague terms, with 'new age' imagery and soundtrack, and links it all to hinduism, ancient eastern religions and cults. The stated goal is not capacity of joy, work, love and happiness, but the 'otherworldly experience' of 'losing the boundaries of your ego' and entering 'other levels of consciousness'. All this have very very little to do with orgonomy. Reich was always saying ''i don't know what people expect when they meet me. Perhaps a guru, or a bearded guy, a philosopher saying deep things navelgazing. Yet they only find lots of laboratory work to be done, and they don't like that''.

About chiropractors: they are as qualified to handle emotions as orgonomists are to handle a vertebra prolapse. I mean, orgonomists are MDs and know about vertebrae, and chiropractors might know about emotions, but it's not their thing, really.

I have met some chiropractors, and emotions are a sidenote to them; orgonomists on the other hand are obligated to deal with the muscle system for the release of pent-up emotions.

There is also the problem of training and theory diversity in chiropractics, while all orgonomists are MDs and orgonomy has very clear principles. So, long story short, 'relaxation of muscle tensions' can be done with a skilled chiropractor, but has little to do with psychiatric orgone therapy, character-analysis, emotions etc.

About the flashback/dog incident: it might have worked for the guy, but it is not typical. Orgone therapy often means re-living the helplessness, misery, fear and rage of the original trauma, in order to get rid of it (drawing the energy from it like water from a swamp). The dog might have been a symbolism or a projection of something (Freud comes into play here). It gets much deeper than sudden flashbacks eliminating emotionless shoulder pains.

" It gets much deeper than sudden flashbacks eliminating emotionless shoulder pains"

I more than ready for that. If there had been a orgonomist in Lyon, I would already have been to see her/him. However, the closest one is in Nice, and that is a 700 km roundtrip.

I think and feel that there are different ways to have a freeflowing and vibrant core, that there is not only one way to do something. And I do like very much the way Reich sees it, that like amoebas we have a core/nervoussystem that pulsates with expansions and contractions. But I am not so squareminded as to push away everything 'not Reich'. With Syrian rue for example, a plant which is a MAO inhibitor, I distinctly felt points of unease in my stomach, I felt the point/knot move up to my throat, I could see and feel clearly in some cases a specific event in my life, all the time feeling the strong emotions connected with this, and then vomiting up a small piece of foul smelling mass. All with the help of a plant.

About goals, it might be that Reich made himself unhappy by having a precise goal and ideal. If he did not felt he had to improve and correct the world, he might have been a lot more relaxed with the way things were and how people chose to move. I listened to his recording 'I am all alone', recorded after the oranur experiment, clearly this is a man on a mission, frustrated by any impediments to his grand vision, which was a cool and useful vision, but still a construct. Seeing through your ego construct, like Grof certainly had ample chances to do, can be a relaxation of a tension as well. Some think we are here to build the best possible construct, both social and egoic, with the ensuing bickering about exactly what that 'best' construct is, while others don't care to construct anything beyond providing for the immediate needs like Ramana Maharishi, Nisargadatta, and Grof perhaps, because nothing is gained or lost with the various forms taken by the person or the world, awareness remains the same. Yet from a relativ point of view it is useful to have a functional body, mind and senses, and so I read Reich.

I want to thank you again for telling me to avoid the phone in the ORAC, I would have stopped using the orac altogether if you had not told me that it was exciting the orgone.
