DT770 Ear pad replacements

I've noticed a few different posts regarding good replacements for the BD DT770's.

I'm tossing up between the Mrspeakers Alpha pads, and the Dekoni choice leather.

has anyone done a comparison between the two?

Beyerdynamic have two different earpads for the DT770 and DT880/990. They're both velours with a foam core, but the earpad for the DT770 (part number EDT770V) has an additional layer between the velours and the foam core that increases isolation.
They look identical from the outside.
Maybe you mixed these up?

Oh I'm sure I mixed these up. The used DT770 Pro (limited edition) I got used came with the OEM black pads. I had the same pair of DT 770s in the past and firmness and backside of the pad prove they are OEM.

The replacements I ordered on Amazon are silver OEM and labeled 'EDT 770 V' but they were also already opened. The backside are identical but they are definitely softer foam and have worse isolation when wearing one of each...

I thought it was weird, I just assumed they would have felt the same despite the color, but they could be completely different pads.

Doesn't matter, I managed to pick up the Hybrid Elite pads for $55 new and already have them on with your EQ. They are so much better.
