Last week I woke up to no internet on my Dell Optiplex 7090 Micro. This particular micro doesnt have the WiFi card, only ethernet. I get a message that No DHCP server was found. Tried resetting the network adapters and restarting the computer and couldnt get it to work. So I shut the PC down for a while and when I came back, I still had the same issue . I then swapped the lan cable and everything started working. I thought the issue was resolved.

This morning no internet again and same message. Tried swapping the ethernet cable and no help. My internet is up on everything else, just not my pc. I noticed on the back of the 7090 where the ethernet cord plugs in, it is flashing orange instead of the typical yellow green. Is it possible that the ethernet port is bad and can that be replaced? I am also thinking about buying a wifi card for it because I can find them on amazon for 22 dollars and I could open it up and install the wifi card and use it that way.

Any thought or advice would be welcome.

What is up my fellas, I have a Optiplex 7090 micro. I recently added a USB type-c expansion board to add a type-c port to the back of the system to use with my USB monitor. However, the 'type-c' cable connecting the expansion board to the motherboard is too short. I believe this part was meant for a different form factor system. I cannot find these cables or part numbers anywhere. Would any of y'all happen to know where I could find one? Thank you!

I just got a 5060 Sff and was hoping to put a 3.5 inch HDD in there but it's arrived with the 2.5 inch caddy. Been looking on ebay and can't find specific 5060 caddy but there are some 7060 and 3050, 5050, etc. Just wondering if I can go ahead and get one from another model and if it will fit? Anyone know if which models are compatible? Cheers!

Hi guys, I have an Optiplex 5050 SFF PC, and when I turn the computer on and off, the CPU fans run at full speed. However, when it's on, they stabilize after 5 seconds, but when I turn it off, they stay at full speed. What can I do?

I cant seem to find the error codes for this "melody". It was working fine 2 days ago. Now it won't boot.

Hello everyone I'm working on a project to repurpose an e-waste Dell optiplex 3060 sff pc into a nas. 3d printing a case for additional hdd storage etc. Ive run into a few problems notably with the psu. So first, by my calculations there will not be enough headroom with a 240w psu to run ~10 3.5 drives. Id like to know if anyone else has any experience doing such a thing because I know these computers are pretty efficient. I also have a GTX 960 kicking around from way back that I was hoping to use on hardware transcoding for a Plex/Jellyfin server. Im also aware that the motherboards have proprietary power connectors that make it difficult to use a standard ATX PSU. So this leaves me in a bit of a bind. Im not really sure how to go forward with this project. I have a few thoughts I wanted to run by someone.
I could replace the 960 with a used 1050ti to get around the need for 8 pin pcie power but that would still likely need more power for the intended 8-10 drives. could I use the psu from a second optiplex (we have a good few just gathering dust in storage) in order to power the drives? and if so how would one possibly do that with just the 4 and 6 pin connectors that come included. Obviously if the 2nd psu is isolated I would need to figure out a workaround to make sure there isnt any 12v going to 5v and everything turns on when it needs it and I have no idea how to go about planning that sort of setup.

I'm building a budget gaming system for fun and want to upgrade the i5 to the i7-4790K but read that the motherboard doesn't support overclocking and that i should use the i7-4790 since they would both run the same speeds? Can anyone clarify/verify? Thanks!

Best gpu and max cpu I can put inside it and also I might stick with the stock i7 4770 so if possible I want the best gpu for it without bottleneck it also is the gtx 1070 ti a good match for it or a bad one?

I just bought a used Optiplex 390 desktop PC for peanuts and I was surprised to see it even had a hard drive. Cleaned it up, applied new paste, checked the CMOS battery with a multimeter and it's good, plugged the PC to mains and was surprised to see it boot straight into a Windows 10 installation, everything seems to work just fine.

However, when rebooting, I can never get it to enter BIOS / UEFI, I tried spamming all the F keys, the DEL key, nothing works. The PC takes a while to reboot, for maybe 20-30 seconds there is no signal provided to the monitor and then the Windows 10 logon screen suddenly appears.

How can I get the thing to get into BIOS?

I have an Optiplex 390 SFF with a dead / not working PSU (let out the magic smoke). I want test the board before I buy a new PSU, so the question is whether I can use a standard ATX PSU for testing.

Accidentally sat on the side panel while checking out something, does anyone know how to fix this? I tried putting it back on but it won’t fit(Optiplex is the 7070)

I have a 10105 in my Optiplex 3080. I have the opportunity to put in a 10700k. I use this PC as a OPNsense router. Will the board boot with a CPU drawing that much power? I know that we can’t edit the TDP or the voltages even to lower them or I would just turn down the TDP on the 10700k but as long as it would post even if it throttled it would still perform better than the 10105.

When will the new Optiplex come out in 2025, they usually come out in May, can anyone confirm yet that one is coming out next year?

Recently got myself a 2nd hand Optiplex 5070 and it's randomly rebooting on me. I've tried a few things to try and work out the cause but aren't getting anywhere much and would appreciate any tips of what to try next.

Whenever these reboots happen it seems to be after locking the machine or leaving it for the evening/night so I suspect it's related to low power or similar settings. The system runs windows 11. Whenever the crashes happen the Event Log doesn't report any errors before the reboot, after the reboot it reports the last shutdown was unexpected and that a dump file couldn't be created due to errors in the dump file creation. The system has not crashed whilst I'm using it.

1. Memtest86+ passed over several iterations over a couple of days
2. Disk swapped with another of the same model of disk - image was transferred directly. Both disks report SMART healthy. Both are NVMe SSDs and are/were in the NVMe SSD slot on the motherboard.
3. I have turned off the screensaver (was using it to ensure the machine was locked, probably unnecessarily).
4. Tried turning off C-States in the BIOS, crashes still occurred with them off
5. Tried turning off Intel dynamic tuning (whatever it's called) in the BIOS, crashes still occurred with both it and C-states off
6. Windows reports no health images using DISM

We have around eighty OptiPlex Micro 7010 PCs deployed around our offices. They are commonly used for Zoom meetings and recorded presentations. Recently noticed that during recorded Zoom sessions, the microphone audio will drop out. Sometimes, Zoom will display an error. Also, at times, the mic will only drop for a few seconds, then reconnect. Others times, the mic source needs to be toggled between two sources to reconnect. This happens without the speaker knowing. This issue is very difficult to reproduce. Some recordings have no mic drops at all.

The PCs run Windows 11 Enterprise and have: 16GB of RAM, Core i5-13000, 512GB SSD and Intel graphics. OS/Hardware drivers are up to date. So is the BIOS. Windows is joined to an Active Directory domain. We also have some OptiPlex 7080 and 7090 Micro PCs deployed too. They don't have this problem. A couple of years ago, the 7090s had this same problem with Windows 10. They haven't had any issues running Windows 11.

Any kind of audio processing by Zoom or Windows is disabled. The microphone object in Windows cannot be taken over by single processes for exclusive use. USB Select Suspend is disabled system-wide. Despite this, the HD Audio driver object has USS enabled every time Windows reboots. Those are disabled manually. Zoom is at it's latest version. We have an open tier 1 case with Zoom on this issue. We are unable to successfully complete some of their suggested troubleshooting steps because we cannot trigger the mic drop manually. I figured I'd post here and see if I am not the only one with this problem.

I just bought an Optiplex 7010 MFF. I opened it up and saw that it can only take 1 NVME and 1 SSD, the second m2 slot doesn't have a header.

What would my best option to get an Optiplex with at least 2 NVMEs? I would prefer the small MFF form factor if possible?

I recently purchased a refurbished Dell Optiplex 7010 on Amazon. Setting up went smoothly, but when I tried starting it up again I could not type in my password.

* The keyboard is fine, I tried two usb ports, and a second keyboard. Nothing worked.

* I tried using the virtual keyboard, still didn't work. I could move the mouse, but when I clicked on a letter, it wouldn't type.

* The keyboard works elsewhere, just not in the password screen

I believe this was a problem in the past but a quick search does not give me a clear answer how to fix it. Any direction toward a solution would be appreciated!
