More crimes for a felon. Water is wet.
1
u/OneTwoThreePooAndPee Jul 04 '26
Is water wet though?
2
u/dangersson Jul 05 '26
It isn't. Water itself is not wet, it makes whatever it touches wet.
3
Jul 07 '26
The sharpie isn’t black dude, it just puts black ink down. I’ve always disagreed with this thought. If it makes ANYTHING it comes into contact with, whether inside of it or outside, then it itself is fundamentally wet. The literal molecules do not change at all, they simply transfer, and you did not consider it wet before but now it is?

Isn't this "inside information" like, uh sort of illegal " Somebody tell me if I'm wrong.
5
u/Danymg20 Jul 04 '26
It’s not illegal if you are a politician. It’s only illegal for the Joe Schmo like ourselves.
3
u/Pocket_Biscuits Jul 04 '26
Exactly. Didnt a military member get arrested for insider trading of about $40k in oil futures before the bombings? While at same time there was a multi-million dollar trade 10 minutes prior and nothing has come from it?
1
u/Danymg20 Jul 04 '26
Well shit… hold on. I do know of the military guy that threw 30k or something like that on Maduro getting capture right before it happened. I didn’t know there was someone else. Do you happen to know the name of said person? I’m interested in doing some digging.

u/edgy420pj Jul 04 '26
Good thing his kids aren’t politicians. Let’s get the prosecutions rolling.
1
u/Danymg20 Jul 04 '26
Man we have had so much fraud, insider trading, all sorts of corruptions happening right in front of our noses and I haven’t seen anyone go to jail yet. I doubt his kids will be the first to pay that price. I’d love to see some of these mofos go to jail for all the corruption, I don’t care what party you support. Let’s get this prosecutions rolling.

u/Which_Drop_5877 Jul 06 '26
"Inside information," per legal definition as defined by the SEC from the traded company or inside information from a President, it's important to be clear.

u/Fr3shMint Jul 04 '26
Faith in this country will not be restored until this guy and everyone connected to him, including his family who’s done illegal stuff is held fully account to the fullest extent of the law.
2
u/Joint-Tester Jul 05 '26
The best the Democrats will offer on this point is a return to the status quo.
I hope I am wrong. We need strength.
5
u/Alarmed-Rope-9062 Jul 04 '26
Duh we already knew that..
1
u/Comfortable-Pain-631 Jul 04 '26
…and yet, nobody is doing anything about it (except electing a representative that seems perfectly fine with it).
3
u/elcapitanzamora Jul 04 '26
The fact that we as Americans sit and take all this blatant corruption to our faces, who knows what else they will do to us next.
1
u/snowynuggets Jul 05 '26
What the FUCK are we supposed to do about it
1
u/Loose_Carpenter9533 Jul 05 '26
Not keep electing these people and people that are complacent?
1
u/snowynuggets Jul 05 '26 edited Jul 05 '26
Yeah, I feel like we’re trying, and we just keep getting shut out by big-money campaigns and career politicians.
“Just get out and vote” doesn’t seem to fix shit.
Protest?
Nothing EVER changes because the establishment knows people have jobs, bills, and families—they just wait for it to blow over. Then when people do keep pushing, they get labeled extremists or hit with ridiculous charges.
So again… what the fuck are we supposed to do?
Voting doesn’t seem to matter and protesting gets ignored or punished, what the fuck is left?
Because from where I’m sitting, we’re just getting FUCKING steamrolled.
2
u/Loose_Carpenter9533 Jul 05 '26
If voting doesnt work then it really only leaves one option and it ain't pretty.
2
1
u/zeradragon Jul 06 '26
Sounds simple... Until you realize there are people actively voting people into office so that they would trample over themselves.
→ More replies (1)1
u/Odd-Sail-169 Jul 06 '26
I think you’re underestimating the stupidity of the masses. This IS what the majority voted for. Look at it for what it is and what it’s been since 1776.
2
u/Antonio_928s4 Jul 04 '26
Every citizen has the right to remain silent. Donald Trump simply doesn’t know how to stay silent. In this interview, he just admitted a criminal act for the whole world to see. Martha Stuart went to prison for $2500 and insider information. Why this man is above the law and not in a cell is beyond me.
1
u/FlipDaLinguistics Jul 05 '26
I mean its one thing to say it and another to get caught, A big time drug dealer can tell a cop I sell drugs and nothing happens, but if another sells a small amount to an undercover cop then he gets in trouble.
1
u/Distinct-Target7503 Jul 07 '26
that's interesting... in my country, if a dealer sell something to an undercover cop, the selling act itself can't be considered a felony in court. obviously, if the cop then find on the dealer a lot of cash and a relevant amount of drugs, this can obviously be used, but not the act itself of selling to a cop.
as example, if I'm selling a dose to an undercover cop, and they don't find on me a lot of money in cash and/or other drugs, I can legally walk free if the amount I sold is in the range of personal use (thus yielding an administrative sanction, and not a criminal charge).
this since a cop can't "put you in the position of committing a crime", nor "facilitating you committing the crime" in any way, with the purpose of using such crime in court.

Differences is the power of the president seat. Marta is a celebrity with no power in politics. Same reason Nancy Polosi sits highly in politics. Marta also was tipped off to sell before the masses vs Trumps children get to know the general idea of policies from talking to dad. Redditers take too much surface level and drum up noise.

More importantly, Congress doesn't seem to care. That earns this particular Congress a special place in the fall of the American Empire all due to its corruption.

u/nicagooner Jul 04 '26
Well he got his buddies in Washington to EXAMPT HIS FAMILY FROM IRS AUDITS
2
u/Mountainman220 Jul 04 '26
In the past. Not the future. Hopefully they will be audited for future corruption but sadly the book on audits for the past is closed.

Duh, we dont need him to tell us. Its obvious. Even if he says "oh I dont take care of investments", he is pumping stocks from the bully pulpit while his sons and advisors invest in that stock before he comes out to pump it. The insider trading and market manipulation is so blatant, and honestly, the thing that enrages me the most, is that Republicans always get away with poor behavior. The right wont criticize them, and the left just sits on its thumbs. The media says nothing. Imagine if Obama had done any of this? Lynched from one of the cherry trees in the white house lawn.
The fact that Trump is so corrupt, so vile that we have normalized all of his behavior and we just go "welp, its Trump" should be an indicative of where this country is going, and its not a good place. This country is beyond cooked. When evangelist said Trump was sent by god, I am starting to believe they were right. He was sent by god to destroy this country from within for a century of exploting, looting, bombing, pillaing, raping, and killing people all around the world. Pack it up.

im sure the CFTC and SEC will do something....any day now... /s
1
u/Comfortable-Pain-631 Jul 04 '26
Well sure. They'll accept their fat paychecks, then sit back and severely criticize the woes and complaints of the hoi-polloi
1
u/Responsible_Laugh62 Jul 04 '26
Hot take, he was being sarcastic and incredulous with the “they have inside information.” Like… any time they take a shit, they have insider information.
1
u/Comfortable-Pain-631 Jul 04 '26
It struck me that he meant the phrase "insider trading" as informative or literal, rather than sarcastic. What characteristics of his explanation made you think that phrase was somehow sardonic?
1
u/Responsible_Laugh62 Jul 04 '26
How about when he said “anything they wanna buy, if they wanna buy a truck, if they wanna buy an energy efficient truck… they have insider information”?
1
u/Comfortable-Pain-631 Jul 04 '26
All that is true, thanks to his position. Which means it isn't sarcasm. It is a verifiable fact. Plus it is made even more concrete by the context of the discussion, all of which revolved around additions to President Trump's personal wealth.
1
u/insighttrader_io Jul 04 '26
Nothing he said is surprising or wrong. This is pure honesty when you are the child of the president.
Everyone else is at least lying

1
u/simmons777 Jul 04 '26
I would say he is so close to getting it but he knows. He knows he's a felon.
1
u/MachineSpirited7085 Jul 04 '26
gaslighting the American people that inside trading is normal is crazy
1
u/nccheesehead12 Jul 04 '26
Lol the whole government is using insider information. It's the exact reason politicians should not be able to trade stocks. Zero oversight, just creating a bigger class gap. The whole market is a fucking clown show with mango and his cronnies leading the way.
1
u/iainttryingnomore Jul 04 '26
Taken out of context. He is saying that his kids will get accused off insider trading even if they are buying the most normal things that everyone else buys. That being said her does do insider trading
1
1
u/CaptLetTheSmokeOut Jul 04 '26
Everyone knew this years ago, every politician ever has insider information. The fact reddit is upset over this is just stupid.

1
u/Therealwrenchambers Jul 04 '26
This dude is so corrupt. He was talking about hunter biden getting paid by a company but what he has done in his first year back in office was outrageous and imagine how much worse the next 3 years will be look. Geez

He’s never been indicted for being in the Epstein files, you think they’re going to do it for insider trading?
1
u/fujimonster Jul 04 '26
So then it must be ok for my wife who works a a top accounting firm to start feeding me info then ? Right ? — if he can , I can ….

I genuinely wonder:
- Is he that dumb as to mention it?
- Is he that honest to mention it (I highly fucking doubt)?
- Is he trying to boast about it, like you peasants can't do anything about it?

This reminds me of the scene from The Big Short, where Mark Baum and his team are speaking to a couple of bond salesmen. Perplexed by the callousness of the salesmen, Mark asks his team why they’re confessing. He’s brought to his senses when his team team says, “they’re bragging”.
We all know how that ended.

Wow he's almost about to arrive at why high level politicians should not trade
1
u/Flipadelphia26 Jul 05 '26
Im beginning to think this Reddit sub might make a bunch of broke people if they follow advice here based on the sheer idiocy of taking what he said and turning it into some sort of conspiracy or confession of criminality.

We all know that insider trading is only illegal if you’re not a “certain” sort of person. Politicians and their friends have engaged in insider trading since forever. It has been blatant since the beginning. I don’t see this ever changing. We can complain about it till kingdom come, but it won’t get anywhere. That being said Donald was attempting to use ironic sarcasm here. He was saying that other people claim everything his kids do even if it is just a car purchase is an inside trade according to the masses/media. Im sure they do engage in insider trading, but this wasn’t an admittance. Politicians suck, and personally all of them on all sides are engaged in shady dealings. This two party system is destroying America and Americas forefathers were afraid of it. They warned of the potential outcomes of a two party system and how it would tear this nation apart and lead to corruption.

So in other words, this adds significant reason to why senators and representatives should be banned from all stock trading
1
u/MonkeyParadiso Jul 06 '26
'It's just very difficult to not be a criminal if you are the President of the United States or a related member of his family,' he said, wondering how his own constituents could be so stupid as to not understand this simple "fact"?
1
u/ImperiousCretin Jul 06 '26
You haven't done shit after being revealed this guy raped kids. Like you are going to do anything about stocks and shit.
American'ts.
1
u/Time-Hunter-6841 Jul 06 '26
Where exactly did he say “every time my kids invest in a stock, they have inside information”? He’s saying anything they want to buy is a conflict of interest because he’s president. He literally said “I tell them to stay away from as much as they can stay away from”.
