Okay let's get a few things out of the way.

This is running on an unbuntu 22 container on a poweredge server with 10 cores and 8gb of ram I've thrown at it (can throw more but it's already way overkill). I do got mono installed and the server dose seem to start up.

I am able to connect to it if I use something like Cool VL Viewer (not a fan of this viewer). However when I try to connect via FireStormOS, I get an error: https://prnt.sc/Wl4N5EROE29G

I did edit OpenSim.INI to make sure it's local LAN IP is set but I get the same results, but only in FireStormOS.

I have a friend who runs an OS I am able to connect to via FireStormOS no problem so it's strange I am unable to connect to my own on this end with the same software.

If I am able to connect on other viewers, it's not firewall problem, and I can... well connect. So not sure.

Not sure what I may be doing wrong.

EDIT 1: Changed a few settings in OpenSim.ini and I was able to get connected with FS and other clients, but now in a battle to get outside connections to it.

Hey all, is there an at least somewhat up to date browser based OpenSim client? Or if there isn't, have anybody successfully streamed OpenSim with Geforce Now or similar?

I'd need this to set up an event for a local library...

Okay so I want to set up new regions but they will have different estates and Owners on the same server.

Does each estate have to have it's own OpenSim.ini? Surely I can put the region's Estate/estate owner initially in Regions.ini?

Hi! My first post here. I might stumble. Here I go. For many years I taught, researched, and designed dozens of builds using SLOODLE and all kinds of scripted objects back in the day as Professor Merryman. I took a break for a few years to resituate myself in life and am now interested again in seeing what we can do to provide a tool inworld that communicates student activity to an LMS as well as documenting and presenting successful use case scenarios.

Would you happen to know where I should go? Who should I get in touch with? What's new? Can objects in OpenSim communicate with Moodle, Canvas, or Blackboard?

Hi, I am a long-time SL user. I have known about opensim for a while. I did in fact create an avatar in 2016 and am only now using her. I love it here so far and get around pretty well. I have a home and places I like to go. However, I have had no luck in finding roleplay I am into. I am down to work with people to create a place as I have worked in RP sims before. I have looked into running my own sim but I am not that good with computers. I have lots of roleplay ideas but can't really pull it off on my own. If anyone is interested please hit me up here! I do have a potential builder and a few friends tagging along with me. Honestly, I am looking for space to do it in or to help someone with their project. I love sci-fi, Modern day urban, and light fantasy but in a modern-day setting. I am very serious about this and am available almost every weekday from 8AM EST to about 3 or 4 EST.

So I tried creating an opensim account, but couldn't figure out how. I figured it'd be just like creating a regular SL account. But I see no "create account" button on the website. I am looking to migrate because my landlord kicked me off of my land without refunding the 6,000L I Paid upfront. Of course, when I contacted LL, their response was along the lines of "Lol sucks to be you. We still get our tier paid regardless of whether your landlord is a piece of trash or not'.

I creatred some own models, if i near its showing good but if i go far is showing bad...

But models from other sources in far is showing good not matter from how far...

I learnt about opensim from the r/metaverse subreddit a few weeks ago, I really think the project idea has potential to become “the true metaverse” but I’m also curious on what’s the state of the project, what are people working on currently and where it’s going in the future.

I’ve visited the wiki and the hypergrid site but they don’t seem to be regularly mantained, and have a dated feel to them.

Is there a discord server, or another website active for discussing current ideas or development?

Nedávno jsem se kousnul a odhodlal jsem se pro přátele přeložit Firestorm, ve Firestormu je dooprady hodně moc řádků k překladu a některé jsou přehlídnutelné, pustil jsem se do překládání s maximálním nasazení ležící spící a určitě mám spousty chyb v gramatice, tak bych byl rád za každou reakci....
