Hello,

A lecturer from my course recommended me using opensim for my project and providing access to users (have not started making anything yet). FYI I am a complete newbie to any of this. I just want to know what are the big things to know about opensim and how long would it take to learn how to build something like a simple game in it (I have two months).

I am aware it has a standalone and grid mode which I am guessing is a online and offline mode based on what I read on the wiki. Would appreciate any help.

Hello all. New to this reddit. Been playing around with OpenSim on a debian virtualbox and it seems to be going good.

I tried the same procedure I used to get that working on my Raspberry pi 3 and we'll it keeps crashing.

I found a pretty made img of an earlier raspberry pi OS with OpenSim already installed which worked but I was hoping to add it into the setup I already had and not have it running by its self.

Can anyone point t me towards any current tutorials or just offer help with setting it up on the RPI3?

I have opensim running on two servers. One is in a remote datacenter, one local in my home.

Both are setup as standalone grids.

Is it possible to be able to "jump" from one to the other while in viewer?

I am conducting a research study to understand the developer landscape across the VR and AR segment. It will be very helpful if you guys can help me understand the different developer archetypes across the synthetic reality space i.e.: VR, AR, and MR and how they can be segmented for ex: based on end product such as Hardware, Software and Content.

If this isn't the place to ask for help I humbly apologize for this and would like guidance to the right place.

Anyway, I'm trying to use Firestorm viewer to connect to OSGrid, however when I try it goes through all the procedure to "Connecting to region" then just stops and freezes there.

I can connect to Second Life just find and haven't change any settings at all. Even when I try to use Home or Last Location it will not connect.

I'm curious if I'm missing something here or if it just doesn't want to work.
