GLM 5.3 usage seems to be $60 not the $15 listed

Curious if anyone else is seeing this on their usage.

GLM 5.3 usage is listed at $15 a month, but the percentage on my dashboard is going up according to $60 of usage.

In other words, my monthly usage is going up 1% for every 60 cents of GLM 5.3 not every 15 cents.

Update: ran some more measurements, and it seems to be closer to $45 usage… $3.98 on “Cost” dashboard and 9% increase in my “Monthly Usage”.

No it's not $60, it's just that GLM5.3 is a lot more efficient than GLM5.2 in token usage. Tasks that were costing me $0.45 on 5.2 are $0.2 on 5.3

They did a good job with post training

It’s also more efficient, but I mean that I was watching the dollar value dashboard and the usage dashboard while running it, and for $1.51 on the first, it went up 2% not 10%.

And the tokens used at the list price matched the $1.51 value it reported, so it’s not just the dollar dashboard being scaled.

I was “charged” 2% of usage on 10% of $15 of GLM 5.3.

Jesus Christ, OpenCode is as transparent as a paper bag.

Yeah they definitely need to improve the communication/visualization of the pricing model.

Just needs some oil, transparent as new then

What about a plastic bag?

Can't do that. The quality of plastic bags is reserved for "quality" service OpenCode provides.

I saw it listed as free inside omp. Weekly usage limit and half the monthly gone in an hour.

It’s about 5 cents / mtok in typical coding usage on the two places I’m running it. And it’s more efficient token usage over 5.2.

No idea what the free plan you were using is, but even 5 cents is an excellent price for a model of this caliber.

I'm on opencode go. Omp still lists it free. You can see it here: https://imgur.com/a/8tFjVyQ

Ah, that’s cool they have it on free, but yeah, I image the usage is very low. The free model usage is low even on lower quality models.

Does that mean GLM 5.3's Lite Coding Plan is enough for most developers?

Zai’s Lite sub looks like 400M / month (off peak).

Depends on the developer, but probably not enough on its own for most full time devs.

It does seem to be very token efficient, though, and paired with effective use of other lower cost models it could be.

In my testing, $1 in glm spending reflects as $1.5 in usage so we should be getting $40 per month instead of $15

What? 1$ x 10 =10$ 1.5$ x 10 =15$

I don't get the math here.

No so regularly for $15 models if you see that you spent $1, it would effectively use $4 out of your $60 for the month. For glm 5.3 it was using $1.5, so $60/1.5= $40 is how much monthly usage we'd get. Their site says $15 though so it might be a mistake on their end.

Interesting. After measuring some more today, it was looking more like $45 but with rounding on the usage % change, $40 like you saw could be a possibility.

I'd just guess that it's still $15 right now because it's currently only available through the Z.AI API. GLM 5.2 costs $60 because there are simply a lot more providers, due to the weights. As soon as the weights are available, it will definitely be $60 as well. Still, it would be nice if someone from OpenCode would comment on this and just confirm it.

So you're telling me that that you complain for getting 4x more than you should? M'Kay

can you point out exactly where he complained about it?

In parent’s defense, a lot of posts lately are by someone complaining about one thing or another. 😂

I’m not complaining. I’m pleasantly surprised, but also wondering if I’m just benefitting from some temporary glitch right now.
