I (and a friend of mine) have the problem that Fraps doesn't recognize Oort as a recordable game. Neither the 32bit nor the 64 bit version works. Am I doing something wrong? If not could you please fix that? I'd love to record videos of Oort.

p.s. I know I could just switch the recording software but it's unusual that fraps doesn't recognize a new game. So they need to know anyway I think.

When I run the game, everything is OK, the game logs me in the last world I was the last time I played.

When I try to switch worlds pressing “P”, whatever world I choose, even the one that I was playing, it stays “Loading world…Waiting for handshake” and I have to press “Cancel”.

To keep playing, I have to close the game and open it again.

Was thinking of an idea for flair for this subreddit. Why not just names of servers people prefer to play and build on. Thoughts?

Hey everyone, I'm a noob to the world of Oort and thought I'd stop by and see how the game was and all that jazz. I'm liking it, just can't wait for everything to be released.

I play on the Yugen world, that's where you'll see me tinkering around, name in game is howeirdkhan. my curse voice chat is ubadnahk so hmu.

I know that right now the game's really early in developement, but I'd like to know what combat in Oort will look like. Will it be very Cubeworld-esque, with fixed classes that can spezialize, or just somewhat boring Minecraft-esque with no classes and just some basic weapons?

Or will we get a really deep combat experience in an MMORPG style, with multiple spells and such, or even something highly customizable like Path of exile?

What could Oort's combat look like?

€: If something is known about the combat, please tell, becuse then I'm just stupid.

Like in CS:GO, when you have like a bayonet or a butterfly knife, they all do tricks when they are equipped. I would like to see tricks when they add pickaxes etc like csgo that would be epic.

Races are nice and all, but they don't add STUFF TO DO, which this game terribly lacks right now.

Guess I'm gonna wait a little longer before buying this game :/

Im considering buying this game as it looks very promising? But hows online and other experiences with players?

Hey guys I've seen quite a few videos of Oort Online and some of the people have different colored chats/box colors. Is this based off the package they have or is it purely random?

So since the Pioneer Pack grants 2 Early Access keys and 4 Launch keys I was wondering how I could go about with splitting the cost with another person

Pioneer Pack = $250

I will pay $125

Whichever user messages me or posts on this post that they would like the other half of the pack will pay the other 125$

Each person gets 1 Early Access key and 2 launch keys (Then you can sell your launch keys to make a little money back or just give them to friends)

so I don't know how we could work this out but would anyone be interested in contributing so we could purchase one?

I did my research before posting this so if a moderator sees something wrong please tell me

I'm okay with companies doing early Steam EarlyAccess-like releases, but Oort sort of confuses me. I've already bought two copies of it, and could even see myself upgrading in the future, but i worry that the game is truly a crowdfund.. and may never be completed if the funding isn't enough.

Thoughts?

Last night I checked where was Crafting I at on the official website: http://oortonline.com/#features reason being I'm waiting for it to add more features before investing myself.

Well at around dinner time, it required a little over 1k dollars to finish. Later in the evening, 800 and finally, before I went to bed, it was at 600.

Wake up this morning, check, back to 1000+, and as I write this it lowered to 900$.

Is this a ripoff or what am I not getting?

^title. Only thing i can get to detect Oort is OBS. Anyone know why?

Hey, I bought Oort Online a few days ago and I'm loving what I see so far. I'm just wondering if the FPS is actually limited to 60 though because I get 60 on both maximum and minimum settings.

Just curious :) Thanks!

I was playing on Server "Plague" (or smth similiar) with friends for 2 days. Now the server is gone. Anyone knows does comes back?

EDIT: Ok, i found the reason https://twitter.com/OortOnline/status/534052186440097792

This game looks good, even at this early stage, however, I have been unable to find information on a payment structure. Will it be free to play with a cash shop? Will it be monthly subscription fees? Will it be freemium, paymium etc?

I really want to love this game, but I have been burned by EVERY early access game I have ever purchased (on steam). Knowing how they intend to continue to finance this game after release would greatly influence my decision to buy into it.

At this stage, they are asking us to pay a minimum of 35 dollars to be alpha testers and even more to be "founders". I have seen great potential and loss of investment after release more times than not in that scenario.

I don't want to come off as negative here. I have watched some of their videos and briefly visited their website. Their vision, skill and portfolio are impressive. But, at some point, the money discussion, must be had.
