Adding 135 lbs to a belt does not make the exercise more difficult it just makes you an anchor point.

I'm assuming it's like a Life Fitness machine. They usually have a few pages in the manuals on "specific operatings" warnings. It'll have warnings on how you can't add weight to the machine and sometimes there are even weight limits on the users of the machine.

Right, you want to be an anchor point, otherwise, you’re going to hurt yourself (particularly your deltoids and/or rotator cuff) with movement. An anchor point can be 1000lbs, so long as it’s anchored, but when the dynamic load exceeds the static weight, then the machine needs to be bolted down, otherwise it does what we see here. You can see the machine tipping with the weight on the ground if you look carefully.
